"Diamond? Diamond!! Please answer me!!!" I heard Sobek yell, feeling a warmth on my chest, knowing he was sitting on me. My eyes slowly opened, seeing the worried face of Sobek, I smiled. "Glad you're okay.." I mumbled, Sobek sighing shakily. "Don't ever do something like that again, Diamond!! I could've lost my best friend!" Sobek yelled at me angrily. "Sobek, I'm sorry, I didn't want to lose my best friend either." I mumbled, still smiling at him as he looked surprised. "I'm... You're best friend? Never mind, if it hadn't been for those two strangers over there-" "What? Who?" I raised an eyebrow, looking confused, replaying everything that happened to us in my head once more.
Those shadows...
Must be what Sobek is talking about.
I groaned, trying to sit up, my arms shaking from exhaustion, but finally managed to get up slowly, Sobek now sitting beside me. "Diamond... Your shoulder.." Sobek whispered, concerned. I looked at my shoulder, seeing it finally stopped bleeding, but it still looked bad. "I'm fine, Sobek, really," I said, looking at him with a smirk on my face. "I've been through worse." Sobek shook his head and rolled his eyes. "BETTER BACK OFF OR I'LL RIP YOUR THROAT OUT, BITCH!" "BITCH!? HOW DARE YOU CALL ME THAT, YOU UNHOLY CREATURE!!" "BENEDICT, LET ME GO SO THE BITCH AND I SETTLE THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL!!" Sobek sighed as I looked over to where the argument was, seeing a woman being held back by a man, as she argued and cursed at Sabastain, who was being held back by White Rabbit. "What's going on?" I asked Sobek, concerned as I slowly got up, my legs shaking slightly. "They've been arguing for over an hour now..." "WHAT!?" I looked at Sobek in disbelief. "WE'VE BEEN OUT HERE FOR AN HOUR!?" Sobek looked up at me, flicking his tongue out and tilting his head slightly. "Well, I wasn't going to move until you got up, and those fools started arguing over something I don't care about, so yeah, we've been out here for an hour." He explained, smiling as I face palmed, wondering why I bothered. I looked at them again, walking over in their direction, limping slightly as the scratches on the back of my right leg stung a bit. Sobek slithered alongside, watching the argument as well. "Hun, calm down.." "CALM DOWN!? THIS PEST INSULTS US AND YOU TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!? HELL! HE CALLED ME AN UNHOLY CREATURE, AND WE SAVED THEIR SORRY ASSES!!" The guy, or "Benedict" sighed, glancing over at Sobek and I, then looked back at her. "Yes, I know, but could you calm down? She's awake..." Sabastain stopped, and looked over in our direction, along with White Rabbit. "DIAMOND!" They exclaimed, rushing over towards me, asking questions, checking to see if I was okay. "Guys, I'm fine, really.." "That bite wound doesn't look fine." The woman said, walking over towards us. I immediately noticed something odd about these two, but I'm not sure what it is. She stood in front of me, Sabastain and White Rabbit on my right side, Sobek on the other. "Mind if I check?" She asked kindly, raising an eyebrow as Sabastain growled at her. "Diamond, don't trust these two, they're not on our side." Sabastain said, not looking away from the woman. "They did save our lives though..." Sobek mumbled, tilting his head slightly. "Just want to check, not inject her with poison... I forgot that at home." She said with a smirk, and took a step forward. I felt myself tense, as Sabastain also took a step forward. "Calm down, we just want to make sure nothing's wrong." Benedict said calmly, as the woman took another step closer, now right beside me. "The name's Destiny, this is Benedict." "Destiny" said, as I unzipped my sweatshirt halfway down, and gently tugged at the left sleeve, wincing as it moved across the bite wound. She looked concerned, examining it closely, then took a step back. "Where are you guys headed anyway?" She asked, looking at me. "That's none of your concern!" White Rabbit replied, taking a step forward. "I'm not here to cause trouble, just asked a simple question." She said, shrugging. Sabastain snorted. "I don't believe you, you may be different, but we know you're one of them." He snarled, standing in front of me, ready to attack. "We aren't like them, alright? Calm down, we saved your lives, we're not here to kill you." Benedict said, also taking a step forward, trying to stop another possible argument. "Well, we're off to the castle!!" Sobek chimed in happily, grinning like a village idiot. "SOBEK!!" Sabastain and White Rabbit yelled at the same time, causing him to flinch at the sudden anger towards him. "Um, Diamond, a little help here?" Sobek asked nervously, hiding behind my leg, I rolled my eyes, bending down and stretching my right arm out. He quickly slithered up my arm and rested his upper body on my shoulder, still wrapped around my arm, reminding me of a tattoo. Sabastain sighed, and looked at them again. "Now that you know our destination, you can leave." He growled, turning around, headed towards the path, White Rabbit starting to follow as Sobek and I stood there. "I think they should come with us!" Sobek explained, looking at them, smiling. "They could help! Besides, we should thank them somehow!" "WHAT!?" I almost laughed at the sound of disbelief in Sabastains voice. "WE ARE NOT TAKING THEM WITH US!" He walked over to us once again, standing by my side. "I don't think that's necessary, we took care of the Wolfens, they shouldn't be a problem for a couple of days." Destiny replied, putting her hands in her pockets, looking at Sabastain. Benedict looked at the bite wound again, then whispered something to Destiny, causing her to raise an eyebrow. "Give us a moment." She said, walking a few feet away from us, Benedict following. "Diamond, we best get going." Sabastain mumbled, turning around once again and walking over to the path, White Rabbit behind him. I sighed, not sure what to believe, but decided to follow them. Turning around, I walked towards Sabastain and White Rabbit, slightly behind, Sobek still looking at Destiny and Benedict. "They keep glancing over this way, I wonder why?" Sobek wondered out loud, tilting his head slightly. "Think we should say goodbye?" I smiled, wondering if he was ever taught not to talk to strangers. "No." Sabastain said, not turning around. "Don't do it, Sobek." White Rabbit mumbled, still looking ahead, seeing that grin on his face tells me he's never going to listen to them. "GOODBYE GOOD STRANGERS!!! DON'T FORGET TO FOLLOOOOW!" He sang loudly, hearing Sabastain and White Rabbit groan while I simply rolled my eyes, wondering why Sabastain or White Rabbit bothered trying. "Sobek, I have a feeling some day you'll get us killed." I joked, looking at him, who was still looking behind me. "Hey, can we take them home?" He asked, not looking away. "No, Sobek, why ask a stupid question?" Sabastain replied, getting annoyed by Sobeks silly behavior. "Cause they're actually following us." He answered, tilting his head. Turning my head, I realized Sobek wasn't kidding..
They were actually following us.
"Why'd you give us away, little dude? We were going to surprise you guys!" Destiny joked, trying to sound disappointed. "STOP FOLLOWING US!" White Rabbit yelled at them angrily, turning around to glare at them for a moment, then looked back ahead, sighing in annoyance. "We decided to come with you idiots, you might need our help." She replied, smirking as Sabastain shook his head. "We don't need help from something like you." He replied, glaring at them as well. "Look, you guys may not believe us, but she needs our help, whether you like it or not." Benedict said, pointing at me, I raised an eyebrow as Sobek looked at me, confused as well. "Diamond doesn't need your help, she already has us and the Queen to help her." White Rabbit argued, Destiny sighed, looking irritated. "She needs our help, whether you idiots like it or not!" She argued back, Benedict rolling his eyes, knowing where this was headed, Sobek and I knew as well, and us three tried not to interfere...
