Brad had eaten his as well as Ariana's sandwiches. He drank his Kool-Aid and was sitting idle. He asked Ariana if he could have her sandwiches and drink and she said he could. Ariana seemed like a big sister to him.

"I-I think Kate's murder was a conspiracy. I mean it wasn't done by an individual. I think there were more than one murderers. I mean it can be, can't it?", Ariana said

I thought about it. She could be right. You'd be amazed by the capabilities of human mind when you really, really think. I've completely left out the possibility that it could be more than one person like I've left out the possibility of the person being a female. And ofcourse, it can't be a pair of killers anyway, it has to be more than two people.

"There were atleast three conspirers. Does anyone lives near Kate's house. Even on the same street?", I asked Ariana.

"I guess.....Marvin Harper lives in the house that's beside the house parallel to Kate's. But how can you say three?".

"Think......Kate texted me after midnight. Our meet wasn't planned. Nobody could've known about it except for me and Kate. So to see her leave the house, you have to keep an eye on her which could only be possible if you live near her. What was the guy's name?",

"Marvin, Marvin Harper",

"Yeah. So let's say Marvin was keeping an eye on her. He saw her leave at night. He couldn't find any better time to do this so he called our killer. Maybe the plot wasn't meant to happen for another three or four days or maybe they were waiting for the perfect time to do this. Now our antagonist is asleep. Marvin calls him again and again and after five rings he picks up. By this time Kate is only leaving her street. Now here's where it gets tricky", I stood up and took out the city map that was kept in the shelf beside the TV. I pointed at school and then to Kate's house.

"Kate's house is 2 and a half mile away from school. You couldn't know where she was going unless you followed her. Marvin couldn't possibly have guessed that she was going to school at half past twelve in the night unless he or the killer followed her or –"

"Or unless there's a third person involved", Ariana said.

"Yes",

"So, is Marv-whatever-per the killer?", Brad said.

And I thought although the brain is a magnificent part of the human system, it can be as useless as a monkey in an advance computer class to the ones oblivious of it's importance.

"Oh shut up Brad for god's sake", Ariana said without even looking at him. "But why would she, Kate, walk 2 and a half mile? Isn't that a bit tiring? And at half past midnight", she continued.

"Who said anything about walking? Her bike was leaning against the wall when I got there".

Which was true. As much as I knew Kate, I always felt like I don't know a large part of her. Even though she could afford two cars exclusively for herself, she mostly travelled on her peddled bike. It wasn't modesty and all but she genuinely liked it. She always had this camera in her hand from which she shot stuff and made videos which were aesthetically pleasing. That was just the Kate nobody knew about. Not even me.

"What bullshit. She'd never ride a bicycle. What is she? Eight?", Brad again, using his next to negligible cerebral cortex, interrupted.

"I just saw what I saw okay?", I said irritated.

Brad smirked. "You're pretty sexy when you get irritated".

A chill ran up through my spine and I started imagining things I shouldn't be.
