"What the hell is wrong with you?" Ben asked me as soon as I walked into the classroom the following Monday.
I was taken aback and stopped walking.
He didn't look happy with me at all.
"What did I do?" I asked in confusion.
"You know damn well what you did, Raven. Are you a necrophiliac or something?"
"What the hell makes you think I'm sexually attracted to corpses?"
He pointed behind him towards Jasik, of whom was staring at us in a curiously concerned manner.
"What about him?"
"I saw you two in your living room,"
Oh, shit, I thought.
"Jasik isn't a corpse," I said.
"He might as well be; the freak looks and acts like he belongs in a casket."
"He's not a freak,"
"Oh, really? Did you not hear or see what he did last week?"
"I did,"
"Then what the hell is wrong with you?"
"Why are you so upset about this?"
"What the hell is wrong with you?" he repeated.
"Why are you so upset about what happened?" I said firmer.
"I asked first,"
"Nothing is wrong with me,"
"You don't need to be around someone like him,"
"'Someone like him?' What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
"Just look at him; he's nowhere near normal, and I'm debating whether or not he's even human."
"Why does Jasik matter so much to you?"
"I don't care about him at all,"
"Then why are you so upset about this?"
"I don't trust him, and I don't want you getting hurt."
"Since when did you care about what I do?"
"I always have,"
"Yeah; sure," Sarcasm practically dripped from my voice. "What were you doing at my house?"
He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a card. "I was going to give this to you," He handed the card to me. "You can still come if you'd like, but don't even try to talk to me." And with that, he snatched his backpack up off the ground by his feet and stormed off to another desk.
"Don't worry about him," Jason said suddenly.
I jumped at the sound of his voice and turned around to see him sitting on his desk beside me.
"He's just cranky because his boyfriend didn't get him off last night." he said.
I scrunched my face up slightly in disgust. "I didn't need to know that,"
He chuckled. "I'm kidding,"
I rolled my eyes and directed my gaze to the card Ben gave me. It was black with elegant orange designs on it that vaguely, but recognizably resembled a graveyard.

He jerked his head up to look at me. "What's up?"
I held the invitation up. "You want to go with me?"
"I'm already taking Emily; sorry."
I furrowed my brow. "Who's Emily?"
He held a finger to his lips. "Shhhhhhh,"
I nodded knowlingly. He does that every time he finds a potential girlfriend.
The bell rang and I took my seat, semi-ready to take the day on.
---------------------------------------"Is it really that big of a deal?" Jasik asked me as we walked down the path in the woods that would eventually lead to our houses.
Leaves crunching and twigs breaking under our feet along with the occasional caw of a crow or two were the only sounds I heard- though this was normal now.
"I kept hearing whispers about it, so I guess it is," I said.
"From what I've heard, they're making it seem like we engaged in BDSM at a park."
I blushed slightly at an intrusive thought, and then mentally slapped myself for that.
"What're you doing on Halloween?" I asked, changing the topic.
"I don't know; why?"
"Well, there's this party that I'm going to, and I was wondering if you'd like to go with me?"
"Is this your way of showing me that we're friends?" He glanced at me from the side.
"I think we can both say we're a little more than friends by this point."
He looked at me with something new in his eyes.
