Zelda's P.O.V
Link had returned home to alert us of the damage. Ordon had lost all of its crops due to the strange mist that rolled in last night. Only Link and I seemed to acknowledge the mist as the cause. But the only difference between Link and I is that I kept this knowledge to myself. I did not wish to direct any attention to myself. Even so, I knew I needed to help these people. After all they were my people.
"So you think the mist from last night caused this damage?" Rusl asked Link.
We stood amongst the burnt crop as we talked. I took it upon myself to sift through the dirt. Rusl and Link were too involved in their own conversation to notice what I was doing.
I gently dug my hands into the earth pushing past the ash until I reached the roots of the remnant crop. I tugged at the root gently only to have it disintegrate in my hands.
"Now that's not right." I thought to myself.
I took the remains of the root and tucked it away in my handkerchief. I needed to take a closer look.
As Rusl and Link continued their conversation I decided to slink away. I needed to get to the bottom of this in order to find a solution .
"Hey where are you off too?" Link question.
I rolled my eyes in response.
"I don't have time for this." I thought to myself.
"Oh I just thought I'd be of better use back at the house. Uli probably has her hands full." I answered.
Rusl nodded his head and waved as he returned his attention back to the burnt crop. Link shot me a confused look as I shoved the handkerchief into my front pocket.
"Perhaps I should come with you?" Link offered.
"No that's alright! I can find my own way back just fine." I stated as I tried to walk away.
"Perhaps Link should come with you my dear. " Rusl added.
Rusl and I looked between one another. We both knew I shouldn't be left alone, or in other words unguarded.
"I would love some company." I sighed through gritted teeth.
Link could clearly sense that I was not too fond of the company but chose to ignore it anyways.
He then walked up to me and offered his arm.
"Thank you." I stated.
"My pleasure." He chuckled.
Once we were further away Link began to try to take up conversation with me.
"So what do you think caused the crop to die on us?" He asked.
I straightened at his questioned.
"Perhaps it was the frost." I lied.
"In the middle of Summer? Come on now you're smarter then that." He laughed.
"Perhaps a sickness?" I lied again.
"Perhaps, but I don't think I've ever seen such a sickness wipe out as much of crop as we have in such little time. " Link explained.
"Then alas I don't seem to have an answer for you." I sighed.
In that short moment I felt Link loosen his arm from me and quickly swipe away my handkerchief from my pocket.
"Well excuse me!" I exclaimed as I attempted to grab it back from him.
Link quickly jumped away as he opened the cloth.
