"Alright, get out of the car. I have to be back in Tennessee by five." My father spat.

"I'll miss you too dad..." I got out of the car and slammed the door behind me. My feet traveled on the gravel path. A loud ass, unnecessary, annoying bell rang in my ears. The big ass clock, basically a miniature Big Ben, sounded off its signal three times. Nice, three in the afternoon which means I don't have to go to class as soon as I get here. Girls scattered out into the courtyard from one buildings like cats getting wet as they all headed towards a taller building.

I opened the office door quietly, peeking my head in with pure social anxiety. The desk clerk, who was wearing a grey blazer with a white blouse underneath, greeted me as soon as she saw me.

"Hi there! How can I help you?" She spoke with a little too much excitement. Jesus this lady is hyper.

"I just got here. I'm a transfer." I answered shyly as I rubbed my arm. I do it whenever I'm anxious and or uncomfortable.

"Oh! Are you Tris?" She frantically started to type something in on the computer. Is she on meth?

"Yes ma'am." My southern tone kicked in.

"Well, here are your room keys and your schedule will be delivered to your door tomorrow morning. If you have any questions I'm here. Feel free to wander the campus." She smiled.

I simply nodded my head and exited the office. I am not in the mood to 'wander the campus', all I need is a bed and chocolate. The contract said something about a permanent roommate. I'm not too worried. Most of these girls seem to be out of the way and kept to their selves, at least I hope. There are always the few people who stand out in the crowd.

I rounded the corner of the dorm hall to see my room. The door knob just had to be jammed which most definitely told the whole floor hallway that I can't even open a damn door. I somehow got the door to open after practically body slamming it with my small figure. My head peaked into the room before I stepped in; the front door lead straight to the apartment kitchen which has an open concept setup, so the living area was a few feet away from the kitchen.

"Who are you?" An intimidating voice made me snap my head around to see a tall blonde headed girl.

"I'm Tris, I'm your new roommate." I responded shyly with my head submissively looked at the tile kitchen floor.

"Huh..." she spoke just above a whisper before stepping closer to me with a smirk. "Nice to meet you Tris." She responded in a husky that made me even more nervous than two seconds ago. "Let me know if you need anything." With that she left the dorm, but kissed my cheek on the way out.

Maybe that's normal here. I don't even know her name.

I walked into the empty bedroom and quickly set my heavy ass stuff down.

My phone went off and I saw that the school sent an alert to let us know that dinner was ready and that we need to get our asses to the mess hall.

I grabbed my keys and sketchpad before walking out of the dorm and locking it behind me. The halls were empty, probably because they already ran to the mess hall, leaving most of their doors half open or unlocked.

My fingers wrapped around the handle bar to open the mess hall door to see tables filled with girls.

On the back wall there was my roommate... eating some girls face. Maybe it wasn't normal for her to kiss my cheek. Oh well, I stopped caring years ago. It was one time, and it ain't gonna happen again. I really need to tone down the southern accent and slang before I get picked on.
