POV: Tris
"Do you have to go?" Karson's voice cracked as she stood beside me on the sidewalk were the limo began to pull up beside.
"I'm sorry, but yes I do." I whispered and looked away. I never see her crying, and when I do it breaks me. I cry all the time, but Karson never does.
"Can we spend one more day together? Just one?" She pleaded with me and I made the mistake of looking up at the heartbreaking sight of my girlfriend breaking in front of me.
I wrapped my arms around her neck and pulled her into me. She wrapped her arms tightly around my waist. "You know I can't, Karson."
"Are you all ready to go?" The driver asked a little too cheerfully for my liking. Karson and I are crying. Does it look like I'm ready?
"Just take this and give me one more minute." I looked over at him and threw my suitcase at him before pulling her back to me.
"I love you." Karson's voice cracked.
"I love you more. I'll see you soon okay?" I looked up at her to see tears streaming down her face.
"How long?" She asked as she looked into my eyes as if it was going to be the last time she saw them.
"A month till I can visit." I whispered and wiped a few tears away with the pads of my thumbs.
"How long will you be able to stay?" Karson's voice held so much pain.
"Less than a day." I answered almost shamefully. A few hours of me being here and then leaving may be more painful than just going the full two and a half, almost three, months and talking on the phone.
Karson squeezed her eyes tightly shut at my answer.
I pulled her into a kiss, and she kissed me back almost immediately, but I could feel her lips slightly quivering against mine.
"You better call me and text me whenever you can." Karson rested her forehead against mine, but kept her eyes closed.
"I will, I promise." I gave her a reassuring smile.
"It's time to go." The driver pried at me again and I wanted to throat punch him.
"One more damn minute!" I snapped at him and he looked scared. I turned back to Karson. "Please don't be sad the whole time I'm gone." I begged her and wiped her tears away with my thumb.
"I can't promise that." She whispered against my lips.
"It's time for me to go." I took her hands in mine.
"I love you." Her voice got quieter with each word.
"I love you more. I'll see you soon, okay?" I looked up at her and she slightly nodded before kissing me slowly, savoring the last few seconds we had.
The driver honked the car horn and I flipped him off without breaking the kiss.
She kissed my hands before opening the car door for me.
"I love you." Karson whispered again.
"I love you more." I gave her a sad smile.
"I love you most." Karson gave me a sad smile back before closing the door, so the very impatient driver could go.
"Glad to see you again, Miss Beatrice." Lanson, the driver, broke the much wanted silence.
"Shut the hell up, Lanson. If you're going to be rude and fake, then I will be too." I spat and he kept quiet after that.
