It was the next day and I was still working on the plan, I spent most of my time that way. I'm getting close to perfecting it, kinda. I keep telling myself that but I'm not sure. I've used, who knows, how many pages in the notebook. "Ya. Ya, we're meeting them there." She was talking on the phone with someone as I wrote in the notebook. I scribbled out a line, rewriting it on the line below. "Ya, she said she would. Okay, see ya there. Bye." She hung up and walked out of her room.
She was wearing a party dress, it was really really short. It was black and had a belt on her waist. It had a small gold flower over her heart, and was strapless. She wore golden heels that matched the flower and a small purse, she was just beyond beautiful. It took all of my will power to not kiss her. I didn't say anything and neither did she. She stepped over me, grabbed her keys and everything she needed. I think she was meeting with Danny. Danny. That name. She broke up with me for him. I couldn't stand him.
Before I could do anything more one of her friends stepped in, wearing the exact same dress as her except hers was red and the flower was silver. "Hey!" The girl greeted as she stepped in. "Hey." "Oh my God, you look amazing!" She complimented. They hugged each other as I sat on the floor right next to them. "I think you both look amazing." I said, trying not to seem too weird. They both looked down at me, "H-hey, how have you been? How's Todd is he still flying?" "I think we need to go.." The girl wearing the red said.
They both walked out, talking. "Goodnight.. have fun, girls." I sighed, tonight when she same home I was going to stop her before she could get to her room and I was going to force her to talk to me. Things could get better if we just talked it out. I grabbed the notebook and wrote about how I want tonight to go. I guess what I've been writing is just how I want things to go, and what I can do to try to make that happen. So far, not much progress, as you could probably tell.
After a while I put the notebook away and grabbed the tennis ball. I rolled it on the floor, back and forth between my two hands. I had my head rested on the wall, quite relaxed and bored. I heard someone outside, well, it sounded like two people. They were giggling and it sounded like kissing. The front door was opened and it was her and Danny. They were making out while stumbling into her apartment. So much for talking to her. Once she saw me she stopped kissing him, "Oh.. uhm, this is my hallway mate I guess."
I started standing up and Danny looked at me, "Sup, bro." I tried to hold in my hate for him as I spoke, "Ya, sup." I said through clenched teeth. The two didn't say anything more, they both just looked at each other and shared nervous laughter as Danny looked at her lustfully. They held hands and went into her bedroom, each sharing glances back at me before closing the door. Still standing up, I stared at the closed door of her bedroom, trying my best not to cry. I mean, it may seem stupid, but I loved her, and she was going to do it with another guy.
It's been about twenty minutes and I was still sitting in the hallway, clearly hearing them as they loudly made love. I hung my head in my hands, sighing. This could not get more awkward. I stood up and leaned against the wall, my back on the wall. I through the tennis ball at the wall, bouncing it lightly. After another hour I just sat on the ground. After the forty tortious minutes he came out, fully dressed. Awkwardly looking at me. He left her door open a crack and stepped over me, "Later, bro." He said, and I didn't say anything, I just watched him leave.
I stared into her bedroom and saw her in a robe, walking out into the doorway looking down at me. I couldn't handle the eye contact so I just looked down at my lap as she stepped closer to me. She sat down on my legs, careful not to hurt me, she didn't say anything but she looked at me straight in the eyes. She laid down, her face in my stomach, wrapping her arms around my lower back. I didn't know what to do. Did she want me to do anything or did she just want me to sit here while she hugged me?
I took a deep breath and put my arms on her back, slowly rubbing her back. I smiled a bit, but still not going to easily forget that she just made love with Danny a few minutes before. I shook my head and noticed I was just imagining her cuddling in my lap, she was really asleep in her room. I saw her door slowly close out of the corner of my eye. I felt my eyes get wet as I held the tennis ball, throwing it down the hall way, rubbing my hands together as a tear formed.
