It was the next morning and she was doing dishes and talking on the phone. "Ya, all day yesterday. He's still there. Ya, I'm telling you. All. Day. He's in his fucking warm up pants. Ya, remember when he said he looked hot in those." She laughed the last part. She talked like I couldn't hear her, like I said, she was ignoring my existence pretty much. She leaned on the counter in the kitchen, the phone between her shoulder and her ear.

She finished washing up the dishes and put the phone in her hand and looked down at me, sighing and shaking her head. "Ya, I know.. I know, denial, right?" I looked up at her, sorta hurt. "C'mon, I'm right here." I said quietly so the person she's talking to couldn't hear me. "Ya, ha, maybe some dignity?" I looked down as I heard her talk to her friend about me. I started slipping my socks off as she continued talking.

"You should go, you're gonna be late." I told her. "No, no, I'm being totally serious." She spoke as she tied her shoes. "Ya, but Saturday will be fun, it'll be good." She said. I finished taking my socks off, and she looked over at me, still on the phone. I got out the toe nail clippers and started clipping my toe nails. "Ew." She breathed out, "He's clipping his toe nails and flicking them all over the floor. Anyway, I'm going to the gym, but ya, see you Saturday. Ya, bye."

She hung up her phone and stepped over me carefully, rolling her eyes a bit. "Hey, and let me know if the moaners are there." The 'moaners' were people who lived down the hall who liked to have sex all day pretty much, that was just what I liked to call them. She looked back at me, not saying anything. I stretched out, making a moaning noise. "Oh my God.." She said as she walked out. "Okay?" She didn't answer and shut the door behind her. Once she left I stayed stretched out and sighed, "Text me."

I didn't know what to do while she was gone so I started doing push ups, crunches, squats. Needing to take a break I sat up straight against the wall and tried to balance the tennis ball of my head. My curly hair made that a bit hard. It rolled off of my head and bounced off my shoulder. I tried to catch it but failed. I decided to do more exercises so I did pretty much the same thing as before. I was bored.. plus I wanted to impress her.. uhm, anyway.

After a while I was out of breath. I sat down next to the front door and waited for her to come home. I heard her foot steps and a I quickly unlocked the door and opened it for her. I held my arm out, welcoming her into the apartment. She just sighed and stepped over me and slammed the door. "You forgot your keys." She just walked on and went into her room while I continued to sit by the door, looking at the ground.

All day I pretty much just sat there, wrote a few more things in the journal, bounced the tennis ball against the wall, things I've been doing. She stepped out of her room late at night and sat on the couch, not even looking at me. She turned the tv on and started watching a show, I didn't know what it was. I laid in the hallway, watching the tv through the doorway. She watched tv until it got dark, then she got up and turned it off. "Ah, I thought Tiffany was gonna win." I said as she stepped over me to get to the bathroom.

I had the tennis ball in one hand that I didn't even notice I was holding. I put it down and stayed laying down on the floor. "Hey, are you going to bed?" I asked. She looked over at me then grabbed her toothbrush and toothpaste and started brushing her teeth. I nodded my head, "Ya?" I mouthed but I didn't say it. I sat up against the door frame trying to find the right words to say. "Hey, I was thinking.. uhm, I know you have to be up early but, uh.. maybe.. maybe we could talk?" I started playing with the tennis ball in my hands as I said this.

"Like.. do you.. do you wanna maybe stay up and talk..? Or uh.. if you're tired, ya know.. talk tomorrow..?" She spit out the toothpaste and rinsed off the toothbrush, putting it back as I still continued to talk. "Maybe tonight so you won't be late to work.." She turned the bathroom light off, making the apartment pitch black. She stepped over me and went into her room leaving me by myself in the hallway. "Okay." I sighed. "Goodnight." I said, even though I knew she wouldn't care.

I bounced the tennis ball against the wall once, but decided not to do it again since she's trying to sleep. I took a deep breath and slid down in a very uncomfortable position. I sighed again and tried to go to sleep, thinking of her. I wonder if she's thinking of me when she falls asleep. I wonder if I'm the last thing on her mind like she's the last thing on mine. I wonder if she misses us like I do. She became part of me, and without her I'm not me anymore. I need her.. I really need her.
