"Hello Josh." I said nervously.
"So you finally decided to call me?" I could vision his smirk on the other side of the phone.
"Yeah."
"Did you little boyfriend decide to ditch you already?" He laughed.
"Austin isn't my boyfriend." I stated almost immediately regretting calling Josh.
"Okay, Sophie isn't it?" Josh asked.
"Yep,"
"Do you want to go out tomorrow night?"
"Sure, where are you going to take me?" I questioned.
"Just out to dinner, if that's alright with you of course."
"Yeah it is, what time?"
"I'll pick you up around 5?"
"Okay,"
"See you tomorrow then."
"Night, Josh." I then hung up the phone.
----
It was now coming up to 5 o'clock and I was waiting for Josh to arrive. I'm sure Austin wouldn't be happy with this if he knew, but then again if he even gave a fuck he would have spoke to me. Again Austin didn't speak to me today in fact I didn't even see him who school today.
I heard a loud knock on the door, I ran and opened the door and for a second I was expecting to see Austin, but then I remembered. Josh was wearing light blue jeans and a violet coloured top with the sleeves folded up. His blonde hair was in the perfect quiff. I must say he is very hot but I don't get the same feelings when I see him compared to when I see Austin. Austin, fuck I need to stop thinking about him.
"Hey, you ready?" Josh smiled, showing his perfect teeth.
"Yeah." I returned his smile.
We both went a got into his car, his car was small, but nice, definitely not as nice as Austin's though and I was unsure as to what car it was.
"You're looking as beautiful as always Sophie." He spoke and I could feel my cheeks heat. I'm not good at taking compliments.
"Thank you, you like nice as well." I replied.
We arrived at a small restaurant about 5 minutes away, found somewhere to sit and ordered some drinks.
"Austin doesn't deserve you, you know?" Josh broke the silence.
"I'm not his, but even if I was why not?" I questioned his statement.
"He's a jerk."
"Tell me something I don't already know about him." I snapped back.
"I could treat you so much better than he does, Sophie."
"He treats me well."
"Everyone in this area knows he's a total jerk, nothing but a tool." Josh told me.
"Well then I must know something that everyone else doesn't." For some reason it was really angering me that Josh was picking on Austin when he wasn't here to defend himself, so I thought I should defend Austin. Even though if Austin was here he'd just knock Josh out in one punch.
"What about Saturday night when he threw me across the table?"
"He was defending me, he's extremely protective of me and I'm trying to figure out why."
"That's why he's not spoken to you then." Josh raised one eyebrow. Ouch that hurt, Josh is right, he hasn't spoke to me but i'm not going to let him know that.
"I'm not here to argue with you, if that's what you want to do then I'd rather leave." I told him and I meant it.
"No it's fine, I won't say anything else then."
"One Pepsi and one sprite." The waiter spoke to us.
"Pepsi for her, sprite for me please." Josh replied, at least he's much more polite than Austin.
---
We was now parked outside my house, we'd finished our meal, it was actually nice talking to Josh after he'd stopped talking about Austin.
"I had a nice time tonight, if you want to do it again just call me." Josh gave me a smile.
"Will do!" I smiled back and got out of the car heading back into my house.
