Chapter 21

*Sophie's POV*

"You should leave, please." I told Josh. Shit, why the fuck did he have turn up now? I for sure know one thing, Austin is not going to be happy.

"I just got here." Josh replied smiling at me, totally ignoring Austin running down the stairs.

"She told you to leave, so leave." Austin spat. "Why are you here anyway?"

"Ask her." Josh nodded my direction.

"Sophie?" Austin invited me to speak up.

"Josh just leave please." I spoke.

"If she wants you to piss off, then piss off or I'll make you leave." Austin's voice was now raising.

"I'll see you soon, Sophie." Josh smirked as he walked back towards his car. Austin slammed the door shut.

"Lets go back upstairs." He stated and held my hand, pulling me up the stairs. "What was that all about? Why did he turn up here?" He added when we reached my room.

"I don't know." I looked down at the floor trying to ignore his gaze.

"You're lying." He told me, which was true I am lying. Josh cam round to take me out again tonight, but I'd much rather be with Austin. 

"H-h-he came to take me out." I stuttered waiting for Austin to go mad. It's not like I'm in love with Josh but sometimes it's just nice to have someone to talk to a be friends with, there's no harm in that at all.

*Austin's POV*

I knew it. I knew she would much prefer him to me. I feel like I need Sophie, I honestly do and it hurts that she'd much rather be with Josh than spend time with me. 

"Why don't you spend time with me?" I asked looking at her in the eyes. 

"I didn't think you would want to spend time with me, Austin."

"Why not?" 

"Probably because you didn't bother speaking to me for four days and it's nice to have a friend, that's a boy." Sophie finally made eye contact with me.

"I've already explained this to you." I stated.

"It was only like 10 minutes ago, Austin, what about the four days you didn't speak to me at all, what do you think I felt?" Her eyes glisten with tears. It seems the only thing I'm good at is punching people or making the person I care about cry.

"I don't know." I replied.

"That's exactly my point, Austin. You don't think of anyone but yourself, if your feelings are in your mind then you don't think of anyone feelings, but your own." A single tear rolled down her cheek and I automatically found myself wiping it away gently with my thumb.

"I need you to help me, Sophie, please, I really do I'm a total fuck up." 

"There are many names I could call you, Austin, but a total fuck up is not one of them." Her small hand reached over and held onto mine.

"So will you?"

"Yes, but you have to help yourself as well, promise?" She gave me a reassuring smile.

"I promise." A gave her a soft kiss on her head before wrapping my arms around her, this was my favourite thing, having her in my arms.
