The snow fell down in thick groups. Holding hands as they collided with the ground and melted into water. It wasn't cold enough for the snow to stick to the sidewalks and tarred streets. But it stuck to the grass in all its white glory. layering it perfectly for the people who loves white Christmases.

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. It was only because, before my mother passed away, it was one of the only times I was able to spend time with my family. First we would torture ourselves by eating breakfast before opening the gifts. Which would lead to my best-friend Claire losing her patience and opening the first gift. And after all the tears and cheers, we would watch numerous movies.

It wasn't that fancy in the tradition department, but it was our thing. Which it still is- with one additional thing. Caroling. It became part of our tradition two years after mom died. She always talked about how she always wanted to do it, so when she passed we made it happen. It was to feel her presence during our family bonding time. Family being Ariana; my sister, Danny; her husband, Jazzy; their daughter, Alessandro; my best-friend, and Clair my other best friend.

Now that it is only two weeks left until the beautiful holiday. People have been crowding the local stores because they are lazy and a last minuter, like me. Its basically my jobs fault that I have been being so lazy and last minute. For some reason it, Wildfire Hotel, has been gaining numerous amounts of attention. It ranks at five star but it never been this busy. Ever. I understand that its holidays and people are trying to stay out, but even then, its never been like this.

That is why I took the time out to watch my niece Jazzy. The beautiful, intelligent, kind six year old who is silently watching Sponge bob. Shes resting on the floor, on her belly, with her hands holding up her head. Her attention span is just as long as sponge bob, so I could see why she like him so much. Both of them are so bubbly and loud.

"Lets gather around the campfire and sing our campfire song." She sings along with the inanimate creatures on the screen, while standing to her feet. Her little body doesn't move to the beat nor is her tone on key, but she's happy.

I couldn't help my smile that was slowly growing. As I joined her and danced no better than what she had been doing. Our loud screams filled the eardrums as we sang along with the overly excited square on the screen.

She panted while trying to catch her breaths. "How ba-bout ice cream?"

"We don't have anymore ice cream, pumpkin." I explain to her and watched as her smile faltered. It never failed to break my heart every time she was upset. Jazzy was my weakness, so when I told her I would buy some tomorrow, I meant it.

"What time is mommy getting home? She told me that she would be back before I wake up." She pouts.

"I don't know, but Claire is on her way." I tell her, "How about you watch TV and I give you a candy cane?"

She squeals while I took the candy cane off of the tree. Passing it to her I place a soft kiss on her forehead. My lips was still placed on her forehead when a notification sounded from my phone. I took out my phone and seen that it was a text from 'Big Daddy' aka Alessandro. We made a bet in late august and long story short he won. Which included his name being 'Big Daddy' for a year.

Big Daddy: Babe?

It didn't even come as a shocker that that's what he chose to text me. Alessandro got this thing were he calls me all types of things. He doesn't do it with Claire because he knew me longer, I guess.

Me: Yes?

I started searching through my phone for other messages. I had none so far which comes as a shocker because my job always calls me on my day off. No matter how many times I inform that I would not be coming in they still double check. Sometimes even triple check. Another notification.
