Growing up the only way someone could stop me from crying was if they took me for a drive. It didn't have to be until I fell asleep. Just long enough for me to calm down.
My mother use to drive me around our neighborhood for hours. She once told me that it was what use to calm her down. Sometimes she would drive further out so I could know my way back home if I got lost. Every day she took me in a different direction, but she drove slow so I could memorize it. Some paths I remember some I don't.
But the main thing was I would calm down. The car she had drove so smoothly that not a single bump knocked me out of concentration. My mind would just drift off, but yet I was so focused. Analyzing my surroundings. Every little thing was so fascinating. It was as if my brain was seeing everything for the first time, and if we just so happen to go down the same road, my eye would catch the things I missed the first time.
My mothers favorite line, "Nothing comes unexpected, until you least expect it, so expect it all." is my guideline in this world. And to this day I still can't tell the accurate meaning to her words. It confuse me but bring me so much sense.
I bet you didn't expect to be kidnapped. My inner self mocks.
Ignoring myself, I look out the window again. Since we left Luther's home we never once step foot out of the car. For the whole two hours and something minutes we are still in this car. Jazzy fell asleep after the first hour, and Luther's stoic face expression informs me to leave him alone. Ron and Leo are in the car behind us, so much for talking to them.
Before we left Luther's house, he had to handle some business with his crew. I'm guessing because of the lingering around they were doing. Four gunshots sounded from the back of the house, and then Luther emerged. He rounded the corner of his house with his suit jacket thrown over his shoulder, with one finger keeping it from falling. Looking all badass and dangerous. Which embarrassingly had me cowering behind Leo, and surprisingly enough, he let me.
So after the whole shooting thing, I asked what happened, and he look at me like I asked him to give me his gun. After that I didn't say anything to him and he gladly returned the favor. Actually he hasn't even look at me since we got in the car. Maybe he's taking you ho...
Luther's phone began to ring. Loudly, because he had it connected to the car. Once he answer, silence is what he was greeted with. What the... oh! The whole.. William is superior and no one speak before him thing.
"Cio?" His thick Italian accent was full of aggression, demanding the obedience he so kindly asks for.
The person on the other end didn't waste a heartbeat, "È finito, il bambino è ufficialmente morto." A guy reply with a much thicker Italian accent. His voice was just as deep but not so much as aggressive.
"Alexander, yes?" He questions, looking down at the touch screen monitor that controlled the music, as if the guy could see him, and vise versa. Alexander? I could feel my heart rate picking up just from the sounds of his name leaving Luther's mouth.
"Sí, andato," The Italian replies.
"Riposare la sua anima," Luther replies, ending the call without informing the other caller. His words have me gawking after him like a fish pulled out of water.
Why does that sound so familiar?....
Daddy sits in front of us with a deep, hurtful expression on his face,"Riposare la sua anima," he says to us in fluent Italian, the words rolling off his tongue like he was speaking English. He finally made eye contact and tried again,"Rest his soul.."
