The Goth Boy
Chapter 1:
fweeeeeeeeeet
The whistle blew letting the seniors at Oakville High let out their anger on the innocent weaklings. That's right, gym class. Every boy loved dodge ball unless you're one of the weak ones who try so hard to be unnoticed. That would be me.
I crouched in the corner desperately trying to disappear. I was gay, and to be gay in a public high school, well it was like I was asking to get punched in the face. My long black hair covered my blue eyes as they gazed at the one and only Cole Montgomery.
Cole was a popular jock here at Oakland High. He was the star quarterback that every girl died to be with. But in this case, its a boy. That's right, I, the goth boy, had a major crush on this stuck up jerk. We were seniors, taking on our last year of high school before moving on to college. He picked on the young, the weak, the nerds and the goths.
Now I'm not one to stereotype right away, but I guess I was most definitely what you'd consider emo, but according to the high school population they call it "goth". I only ever wore black, my lip was pierced, my skin was ultra pale and my dark hair didn't help. I unlike everyone else loved my whole "goth" look.
I could walk down the halls and receive nearly fifty insults or shoves from people I didn't even know the names too. While Cole over here had his own path made when he even stepped down the hall. Cole's twin sister was my best friend, Zoe.
"Zoey! Get the ball!" His voice shouted over to his sister. She jumped back into reality, catching the ball aiming straight at her. They were twins but looked nothing alike. He had dirty blonde hair that he gelled up messily every day while she had vibrant purple hair with black tips. Their eyes matched, both grey with gold speckles.
His face was defined and masculine while hers was girly with high cheekbones. She was as thin and weak as a twig like me while he stood strong and toned. Cole looked out for her all the time and I couldn't help but wish it was me he looked out for. In fact, no guy went near her too scared to face him, eventually. Except me but I guess since he knew I was gay I wouldn't try anything.
I stayed in the gymnasium's corner praying that I wouldn't get hit in the face...again. I was Cole's main target; I mean in a way I guess that's a good thing. At least he knew I existed right? But, I knew he'd never like me back. He had to have been the straightest guy in school.
She ran ahead to the white line in the middle of the gym risking everything to just grab that ball. I was still in the game, not participating like always. The other team consisted of Zoe, Cole and some other guy I had no idea what his name was.
Her confident hand grasped the red ball as she ran backward, careful as to who could try to hit her. She was the head cheerleader while Cole was the quarterback. They were known as the "perfect" family. I heard a rumor once that they had an older brother but it ended as soon it started. Cole would beat up anyone who even mentioned it.
Dodge balls flew beside Zoe, some missing her by just a hair. I watched intensely seeing how her main target was Cole's best friend, Hunter Garcia. Hunter's been like his brother since they were really young, he grew up with them.
He was Portuguese making his skin, hair, and eyes dark. He was the linebacker and super hot. Not as hot as Cole, but it was pretty close. They were like the team of heartbreakers, him and Cole. The ball hit him in the arm catching him off guard. One down, nearly twelve more to go, and I was one of them.
