Janny p.o.v

After hooking Yuni and Chad together , Dylan and I bought ice cream and went back home together. It was weird though. For the first time, I let my guard down and laughed. Whole heartly laugh. I can't remember the last time I did that. After everything that had happen to me for the past six years , I gave up on smiling and laughing. I didn't think there anything in life to be grateful for.
But Dylan , he made me laugh. Even thinking about it now , brings a smile to my face. Nope. I can't. I can't have feelings for him. I have to bring him to the devil. I can't fall in love and make things complicated. I got a job to do. And I'm going to it

The rest of the walk was a little awkward. Until Dylan decided to speak.

"Hey..did I say something wrong?"

"Huh? No..why ask?"

"Well..we were talking and laughing..now the only sound I can hear is us breathing. Its that quiet. Seriously is something wrong?"

I chuckled a little. Its a little cute that he wants to be friends.

"Nah..it nothing...I'm just a little tired. You know being at the carnival the whole day."

"Tell me about it. Chad is the same like Yuni. He loves to go carnival. Despite being the popular guy , he is still a kid at heart. Man I love that dude"

"Are you and Chad close?"

"Close? We are like brothers. Chad has been there for me from a young time. Don't you have one?"

I stopped at my tracks. A bestfriend? Never had one. Yuni was only the friend. I only got to know when I was 11. When I was kid , no one wanted to be friends with me because I had sickness. There were rumors spread that if someone came close to me , they may get the sickness too. They didn't know what kind of effect that can have on a kid. I blinked back the tears threatening to fall.

"Hey..are you okay?"

I suddenly snapped back to reality when I heard Dylan voice.

"Huh? Oh sorry. I zoned out a little."

"Its okay...so what about you did you have any other friends beside that Yuni."

"No pretty boy. I didn't. When you have terminal sickness...no ones to be your friend."

Then Dylan stopped in his tracks. His face suddenly hold a gulit feeling across and his mouth was hanged open. His expression was unreadable

"Janny.. I-im sorry...I didnt know..I'm sorry"

I chuckled. He didn't had to apologize. He didn't know. He also didn't know I wouldn't have been alive today if I didn't made that pact with the devil.

"Don't be. How would you have known. Its cool. Hey my house is here. So I guess I will see you around in school."

I said as I walked to the door. I turned around to say goodbye to him but instead his grab my wrist and pulled me into a hug. He didn't wrap his arms around my waist.  He hugged me like he was protecting me. I was too stunned to response. It felt like my heart was catching butterflies. Something that was asleep for so long , is now awaken by Dylan. He pulled back and looked me straight in the eye.

"I'm sorry for doing that. But I wanted you to know that you are a beautiful person. No matter what they say about. You are a strong ,  beautiful person. So what if you don't have friends. I will be your friend. I promise.

I didn't know what to say. I blinked at him. He looked at like he was searching for a truth in my eyes.I don't know what you looking for Dylan. But please don't  look for a way to enter my heart.

"Thanks . I appreciate it. But don't worry. I'm a big girl you know"

He chuckled.

"I know. But I hope you know that not only Yuni is your friend. I am also. So is chad. Okay?"

"Okay. I should get going. Bye."

"Bye janny."

He said and left before throwing me one last look. I turned around , open the door and went into the house

I took off my shoes and close the door.

"Janny ? Is that you?"

"Hey grandma."

"Hi janny"

Okay that's last one was a new voice. I quickly ran to the hall to see who was here. And as if fate was playing a terrible game , my father and his friend's son , Mike is here.

"Hey dad. Surprised to see you here."

"Hey cupcake. Never seen you for a long time. C'mere."

I went over to my dad and gave him a hug. Its been long since he came over. I missed my dad. I was closer to him than my mum. However my face scrowl at the sight of Mike. Mike was the son of my dad bestfriend. He and my dad was the closest of the close. So much so that Mike have slept over at our house once. But Mike , he's a pervert. Who's just waiting for the right time to jump on me. There has been more than one occasion he had try to misbehaved with me. But because his dad and my dad are best friends , I never told my dad. Plus I never let him get near to me. Whenever he tried to , I simply try to move away or close and lock my door. Mike is just 2 years older than me. But this guy still give the creeps

"Janny you remember mike right?"

My mouth went dry. I swallowed back my pride and look Mike staright in the eye

"Of course. Hi Mike. Nice to see you again."

I really wanted to slap that smirked off his face. He was eyeing me up and down before look at my face and smirking at me.

"Nice to see you too janny. Wow..seems like you have grown up."

Boy I never wanted to hit someone so bad
