A Mages Secret

Chapter 7

I woke up with Mom and Albert talking to each other. I tried to get up but I was to tired.
     "Mom", I said weakly.
     "Crystal! I thought I heard you scream! I was so worried!", she said though tears.
     "I'm fine..ow..my head..it hurts bad", I said slowly. I couldn't even think to much.
     "Kelly, you go downstairs. I will help her", Albert said.
     "Ok. Get some rest sweetheart". Then she walked away. Albert turned to me and frowned.
     "I didn't know you could scream that much", he said while laughing.
    "I don't under-", he cut me off by placing his finger on my mouth.
    "Don't talk to much. Like I said you could hurt yourself. I'm hear to tell you, that I heard the person talking to you. Now I don't think you should go outside tonight, but we have to risk it", he said all of this with a concerned look on his face.
      "But what if it's one of the people that captured Dad", I said. The faster I talk the less it hurts.
     "Thats what we have to do. I'll be there if anything goes wrong. But your mom cannot know about this".
     "Why not!?", I yelled.
      "Shhhh. Don't be to loud and if she knew then she wouldn't let you do it".
      "Fine, but if I get hurt-", he cut me off again.
      "You won't. I will be there for you and if you get hurt I will use my magic on them".
      "Ok. I need some rest. Then at midnight we can go out there".
      "Deal", he said, then he walked out of the room for me to rest. I was so worried about tonight, that I couldn't even close my eyes.
      So I lay there wondering what time it is and then I feel asleep somehow.

"Crystal, it's time to get up", I heard Albert say.
      "Huh...", I mumbled. I opened my eyes to find Albert in his robes, ready to attack anyone.
     "It's midnight. Are you ready?".
     "Yes". I get up and get ready quietly. Mom rolled over in her sleep.
    "Shhhh", Albert said. I nod my head and tiptoe to the stairs with him. We both tiptoe down the stairs and walk outside.
    When we opened the door a cold breeze welcomed us.
     "Ok. I will stay right by this door and you go out there and show yourself", Albert said, even though he didn't sound confident.
     "Ok, here I go. Do I still have to do this?", I asked.
     "Yes. Now go before he leaves!".
     "Ok, ok I'm going", I walk out the door and into the yard. Well what should I do now? I guess I should say I'm here.
     "Hello", I said as loud as I could get, without waking Mom. I here some noise in the bushes and see a black shadow.
     "Hello?".
     "Yes?", said a very deep voice. It was very calming.
     "Umm. Are you the one that wanted me out here tonight?", I ask. I could see Albert, out of the corner of my eye, walking towards me.
     "Yes. I am. I wanted to tell you something about yourself. Your not who you think you are",
     "No. Your not going to say anything to her. Now leave!", Albert said with a huge dark shadow forming in his hands.
      "Whats that!?", I yelled. Just then I broke his concentration and darkness spewed everywhere.
      "Crystal!", yelled Albert. He looked mad but horrified that I was going to get hurt. He threw up his hands and pulled the darkness towards him.
      "Now where was I, oh yeah I remember now. Go back where you came from or else you will die!", Albert screamed. I have never seen him this angry before but I haven't seen him that much.
      "Albert, he doesn't seem that bad and besides I want to hear what he has to say", I said as calmly as possible.
       "Yes. Im good. Listen to the girl. I need to tell her something. It's my duty to tell her this", the man said.
       "Why? Who are you working for?", Albert said as the darkness creeped closer to the man.
       "Ok fine I am working for Slavotor Dred, and thats Mr. Dred to you", the man said. He walked up to me. He was tall and very old looking.
      "May we speak alone, me and Crystal?", he asked.
      "Yes but I will still be here, just out of earshot", Albert said. Albert walked back to the door and watched us like a hawk.
      "You must be wondering who I am, am I right?", the old man said. I nod my head up and down.
       "My name is Volux. I wanted to tell you that you have a great power that Mr. Dred wants", he said.
       "How? And why would he want it?", I ask.
       "I dont know, I'm just a messenger. If you do want to talk to him personally, he wants me to take you with me".
       "No! I'm not going anywhere with you!", I yell and then Albert came over.
       "Hey, leave her alone!", Albert said.
       "Mr. Whatever here said I have a great power and Salvotor wants it", I said.
       "Albert,how long are you going to play this little game of yours", Volux said.
       "What is he talking about!", I scream. Then Albert looked at me and said very quietly, "I'm sorry Crystal".
     I heard a weird sound and then Albert's face went blank. He walked up to me and grabbed me.
      "Hey! What are you going! Put me down!".
      "He can't hear you and he wont ever hear you", Volux said and laughed a creepy laugh.
      "No! You can't do this! I'll wake up my mom!".
      "Oh how wrong you are. You see I put a curse on your mom, she wont wake up until we are gone. Also a bigger thing I did, she doesn't remember you or your dad!".
      "No!", I scream through tears.
      "Now put her in the back of the van", he said.
       "Yes master", Albert said. He sounded like a robot. What is happening to me? Am I going to die? I started to cry as Volux laughed.
      Albert tied ropes on my hands and feet. Then he threw me into the back of the van.
       "Ow...".
       "You might want to get some sleep, we got a long road ahead of us", he said. He shut the door behind him.
      It was quite and dark until he started the car up. So I layed there and cryed myself to sleep.
