When Team Canada arrived back at the hotel everyone went to their rooms to go to bed. Hanna's team was smart and knew that tomorrow they would have to buckle down and play some hockey.
She knew coach would work them hard because at the end of the day they aren't here to have fun, they are here to win.
Hanna took a shower to wash off the punch and by time she changed into her pajamas Jack was practically passed out on his bed.
Hanna walked to her bed and laid down reaching to shut off the lamp. "Goodnight Jack-o," Hanna said closing her eyes.
"Goodnight Han."
Goodnight was cut short around 1:00 in the morning when someone decided to start blasting music.
Jack woke up groggily "huh, what idiot is blasting music this early?"
"I don't know man," Hanna said getting out of bed and leaving her room to inspect the sound.
Everyone else decided to do the same but nobody did anything but stare at each other down the hallway, except Hanna. She marched down the corridor to the door that contained the music and banged on the door.
Out came a person from Team U.S.A. with the guy that hit Hanna with the puck earlier on. "Ok listen here," Hanna started. "I am gonna be up all night because of you two. Now if I hear another word you're gonna have a lovely trip to the moon courtesy of my foot."
She turned fiercely on her heels as Owen and Haynes busted out into laughter, but she was in no mood. As she entered her room the music stopped and she laid back down to rest.
Jack followed her back inside with a grateful look on his face and Hanna turned the light off once again. It only took her five minutes to fall back asleep and she slept soundly until the next morning.
Around 7:00 the three Malloy brothers; Jett, Gunner and Stryker barged into the twins room. "Rise and shine broski!" Gunner yelled as he jumped on Jack.
"Good morning little sis!" They called out to Hanna as she rubbed her eyes.
"Good morning," she grumbled and threw her legs over the side of the bed. "What time is it?"
"7:07 on the dot." Jett said looking at the alarm clock. "And wait 'till you hear this Han!"
"What?"
"Coach wants us to do 5 miles before breakfast!" Gunner faked enthusiasm.
"Gee Gunner! Isn't that a swell time!" She joked back slipping on a sweatshirt over her tank top, surprisingly California was cold in the morning.
"Well let's get going! We gotta start now if we want to have breakfast before practice!" Jett yelled darting out the door.
Hanna sighed and ran after him, but that's about all she did. As her team went to go run her five miles she ran around the other side of the hotel.
Grinning wildly she hid in bushes and around plants until she made it back inside. A bit of anxiety overcame her, if her father found out she would surely be in a lot of trouble.
However her fears all seemed to stop as she saw an all too familiar face. Her eyes trailed him as she failed numerous times to look away, catching her gaze Adam smirked a little.
She whipped her head to the side fast, blushing a color so red that it matched the track suit she wearing.
Remembering last night and the proposal she giggled, gaining enough courage to walk up to him, after all he was alone.
"Hello fiancé," she joked sitting in the lobby chair next to his. He smiled looking over at Hanna.
"Hello," Adam chorused "shouldn't you be with your team?"
"I should be, but we had to do 5 miles and you should know that Hanna does not run," she laughs sitting back in the chair.
"5 miles! That's insane, are you guys playing hockey or going into the military?"
"Sometimes I wonder the same thing," she admitted but that's as far as she was willing to say about her father. Hanna didn't think he would understand her father's intense ways.
"Nervous for your first game?" He asked curiously.
"Never," Hanna smirked cockily while sitting up a bit straighter and looking him in the eye.
He stopped for a second "me neither," he stared back.
"Alright Adam," she giggled as his face heated up a bit. She heard screaming that obviously came from her brothers, and they were mad.
"You think you can cheat yourself out of running!" They yelled at Hanna as she bolted for the elevators.
"Yeah that's right, you should be scared!" Gunner called up to her as the doors shut and she sighed of relief.
Sometimes it's just too easy.
