Moonstone's P.O.V
I suddenly feel myself awake, not the type of awake where I just woke up, but instead conscious. I have a feeling im not supposed to know what awake is, I just know. I know my stomach hurts, it's telling me I need to eat. What is eat? I don't know, should I know? It feels like I used to be someone, something. Almost like my memories are locked behind a large gate, the gate locked up with chains. Finally, I open my eyes.
The room around me is muted and grey, yet so bright. It's her, my Diamond. She must be the source, she is so radiant I can barely look at her. My eyes sting from her sheer intensity. Without thought I solute her, "My Diamond," I murmur. What am I doing? It's like it's ingrained in me from the moment I existed. "How can I assist you."
"Look at that, and that silly little Agate from the zoo said it was unlikely we could preprogram her." My Diamond sang sweetly. "Yellow, maybe you were right. Make her some Amethysts for when she's back from her mission."
"Yes, my Diamond."
They're all so tall. it's strange. My Diamond is all white with only black accents and spikey hair, although she's so radiant I can't see anything else about her. Not including being a literal ray of light, the other diamonds are the same. Only one shade range, Yellow Diamond all yellow and the same for Blue. Although their forms are different. Yellow Diamond and Blue Diamond are polar opposites. Blue is feminine, sweet, and somber, wearing a long blue dress with long bell sleeves to match. Yellow is brash, hostile, and dressed like a warrior. Her wearing a helmet and military gear makes sense.
"White, this seems wrong. This completely goes against her memory!" I heard the Blue say in a mournful tone. For a brief moment the room turned blue, tears welled up in the diamond's eyes when Yellow spoke, it finally dissipated.
"No Blue, she would have wanted us to spite those rebels and this is just the way to do it." The Yellow spat out in anger.
"Enough, we've let this little gemling wait so long for her mission."
Finally, attention is put on me. "Hello, Moonstone, I'm White Diamond, and these are Yellow and Blue Diamond. You are our creation; you are one of our many servants. Do you know why all three of us are so interested in you?"
"No, my diamond. I'm actually quite confused about everything right now." I respond. I'm so hungry there's a pit in my stomach, part of me adores these beings and another part of me wants to run. I want to do as they say but I don't know why. Is it the preprogramming they talked about? What does that even mean? Did they do something to me?
"Your first mission is to go to Earth, capture Rose Quartz, and bring her here. Details will be explained in your Halo Tablet. If you have any questions about your mission speak to your Pearl." Yellow shouted, her voice echoing across the vast room.
"I'm sorry, my Diamond, I don't know what those things are."
"Pearl, describe what a Pearl and a Halo Tablet are please." Blue Diamond asked.
"Yes my diamond," She sniffled, pulling something out of her gem. "This is my Halo Tablet. I use it to write notes for my Diamond, take calls, and keep records for trials." She seems apathetic, somewhat dissociated, if you will. "Pearls, like myself, are servants. We serve no other purpose other than to be subservient, for all of eternity."
"Thank you, Pearl, I appreciate your help." I say to Blue's Pearl with a small smile. It's Obvious she's in pain, but her Diamond seemed depressed as well. Maybe it's their personality. I hope the compliment made her feel better.
"Oh, Moonstone. She's a Pearl, she doesn't need gratitude." White Diamond sang in a sing-song voice, even more, dissociated than the Blue Pearl. "They are servants, not full gems."
"Oh, my apologies my Diamond," I mumbled. This seems unjust. A Pearl, lower than me? Just because of their gemstone? It is coming from my Diamond herself, if anything, I must be wrong.
"Pearl! Take Moonstone to the Roaming Eye and introduce her to the Pearl!" Yellow demanded.
"Yes, my Diamond." The Yellow Pearl replied pulling me by the arm to a warp pad. "Come on you'll be going to Earth in a Roaming Eye with your Pearl," Shouting, "A Roaming Eye is a small red ship with good defense. Your Pearl has already been briefed on the mission and she'll give you details. But really, how valuable will she be, they gave you an off-color after all."
"Offcolor?"
"Defective, that's what she is, no one would ever give some like that to a high-ranking official. It's probably her last chance to get it right before they break her. And you're not high ranking, nor important so they gave her to you." Her words are like venom; They're made to hurt. Will I be defective if I fail? Will they break me if I can't retrieve this Rose Quartz? How is she defective? What could she have possibly done to need to be broken? Not reassigned, but killed for her actions. Will I be safe around this Pearl? "Well, here's your ship! Have fun on that miserable planet!"
"Uh, thanks," I reply, trying my best to not allow this Pearl to get to me. I don't want to go into this ship. Every fiber of my being is telling me that I will not like what I find, maybe not in the Roaming Eye, but the ship will lead me to it. But I have no choice.
