Moonstone's P.O.V
Walking out of the bathroom, I see them. Two new gems which I've never seen before. One was small and green with a gem on her forehead, the other blue with short hair and a dress. "Uh, hi. Who are you two?"
"I am the Great Peridot! Destroyer of the Cluster! Well, kinda. And this is Lapis Lazuli, as you can clearly tell." Peridot shouted in a high-pitched, yet condescending tone.
Cluster?
"Pearl, you didn't tell me the Cluster has been eliminated! This changes everything!" Luna glared at Pearl. Pearl replied with a shrug.
"What do you mean changes everything? I don't know what this Cluster thing is but we're still outnumbered and overall screwed. We can't continue with our mission." This is it. We get shattered by these gems, or the Diamonds shatter us.
"Language, Moonstone! Steven can't hear that!" Pearl replies.
"Eh, Lars says it." Steven shrugged.
Even with Steven's wit, the air once again became dense. Multiple gems staring daggers into me, even Luna. Luna has never looked at me like this, but she appears more concerned than anything. "Luna, what do you mean?" My tone shifted to frustration.
"It's not that it's just, well. The Earth won't be destroyed. We could, uh, stay." Her voice shook.
I can't believe this. Shes defected. I've been trying to stay alive, and she's fraternizing with the enemy! I need to calm down. I need to lead her. I understand what Yellow Diamond's Pearl meant. "Luna, bathroom. Now."
A look of dejection flooded her eyes as she walked into the bathroom. Impulsively, I slammed the door. "Luna, you understand our mission, right?! We have only a few seconds to get out of here. Who knows why they let us in here alone."
"Because there's no windows, my Moonstone. We can't escape."
"Oh."
"Back to the point, what do you mean to stay? We need to fulfill our duties for the sake of our Diamonds!" I feel the rage boil inside me. I know Im half-human, but I can't turn my back on my creators. I can't become like her, become off-color.
"I mean, stay to make a sustainable way of harvesting humans!"
"Gasp!" The entire room erupted as I realized they had been listening. We sprinted out of the bathroom, and pandemonium ensued. Peridot rushed to turn on a faucet, and the Lapis controlled the water coming from it, and Amethyst pulled out a whip. But Pearl, she simply whispered to Garnet.
"Everyone stop. Let's hear Luna and Moonstone out." Garnet's low voice echoed throughout the house.
Even though the room was dead silent, I swear I could hear the entire room scream, "What?"
"Luna, I already tried that. I told Yellow Diamond how we could use Earth without destroying the local ecosystem. She tried to kill me." Peridot's tone was sympathetic. It truly seems that some of these gems wanted both. Earth and Homeworld, I don't think that's possible.
"I'll try anyway." Luna responds, "My Moonstone, can we? This will be the best way to ensure that we always have the most number of humans available for use by the Diamonds."
"I suppose it's fine. Without a breeding center, it would be a challenge to capture 150,000 adult humans," I reply. "Luna, please get in touch with White Diamond. I need her say so before proceeding."
I hope this plan will succeed. If I can reach out to My Diamond, she'll know exactly what to do. She'll obviously realize that I need a replacement too.
"What part of not contacting the Diamonds are you not understanding?" Lapis yelled, "We don't want another war!"
"Nevermind. I guess. We'll uh, have to figure this out first, then contact the Diamonds with our findings. If we don't respond soon, they'll suspect something went wrong."
"This is true. We will have to stage a call to show the Diamonds an asset hasn't been lost," Pearl stated.
"My Moonstone, should we see what things humans need and enjoy? We are close to a village afterall." Luna stated, a light beamed from her gem. An identical depiction of the nearby town was illuminated on the floor, almost styled as if it were a battle map.
"I guess you guys could meet the Pizza's and the Frymans. Oh, and we could stop by the Big Donut!" Steven shouted, his excitement brightening the room. Even Garnet had a small smirk.
"Steven and I will accompany you. I may not know much about human life from an experience perspective, but I do understand their physiological needs."
"Yes! This is a great idea! I will join as well. Pearl and I are both intelligent engineers. So it would be important to have us both!" Peridot exclaimed. She really needs to learn how to lower her voice.
"Okay, Steven, you can lead the way."
Steven gleefully marches forward, leading us to a small ocean town. Luna, Pearl, Peridot, and I all follow behind.
I can't shake that something is off. This doesn't make sense. It's all so out of character. Why would Luna want to stay and then make some piss poor excuse for why? Why is Steven helping us with this endeavor? And what the hell did Pearl say to Garnet that caused all this?
This is a setup. There's no way I'm letting a bunch of rebels outsmart me. How did this happen? I was given tools and even a Pearl to help- Pearl. This is all Luna's doing, she must be a spy or a double agent or-
"My Moonstone, are you okay? You've been really quiet this entire walk. Is something bothering you?" Luna glanced down at me; A look of confusion strewn across her face.
"I'm fine. What is this place?" A large building stood in front of us. The roof of the establishment was washed out blue and red. A strange, unidentifiable object stood on top.
This doesn't interest me anymore. It was kind of Steven to help me, but that doesn't change the facts. I just need to get through this planning stage. I'll be able to make my escape. I'll finally be able to go back to my Diamond.
"Oh, that's the Big Donut. My friends Sadie and Lars work there."
"Yes, we know Steven. I don't think that is what she was asking. This is a place where humans eat things called donuts. Amethyst is quite partial to them herself." Pearl remarked, brushing Steven off.
"That's nice. Are we going to go in?" I ask.
"Yeah, let's go in."
