Chapter 15: Monster's in the Kitchen

"Why don't we take one more call about these monster sightings? Suffern, New Jersey, you're on," a news radio broadcasted.

A diner was still open late as the guy running it was still serving coffee to another guy who was reading a newspaper when Jamie in a disguise ((A/N the one above) just in case enemies know how she feels about Raph/the Night Watcher) sat down and asked for some hot chocolate. He gave it to her.

"Monster sightings," he scoffed at the radio.

"Believe me, pal. I've seen some of these monsters," she said, telling the truth since on the way there she saw this huge dinosaur-looking monster on her mission to find Raph.

"I'll believe it when I see it," he replied.

Then he heard something in the freezer so he went to check it out and he screamed. Jamie just smirked.

'My knight in shining armor is coming to save the day,' she thought to herself as she hid.

Meanwhile, Raph was kneeling on one of the many roofs in New York until the radio he had went off.

"Attention, all on-duty officers: Report of a disturbance on 32nd. No units available," a policeman said.

"They're playing my song," Raph smirked and headed in that direction.

The guy who worked in the diner was freaking out and frantically pushing the button to alert the police.

"Where are the cops? How come the cops haven't shown up? Just remember what my analyst said, 'just go to my happy place.' Everything's gonna be fine. Happy place. I'm feeling good. I'm thin," he kept telling himself as he pressed the button repeatedly.

Raph jumped through the door, making Jamie's heart flutter.

"Don't get up. I'll serve myself," he replied, cracking his knuckles.

He went back to see a little, adorable monster just rummaging through the freezer. Jamie looked through the window to see if he would need some help.

"Look at you. Ain't you cute? You want a butt-kicking, little fella? Yes, you do. You do. Come on, I'm gonna drop-kick you to hurty town. Come on, little guy," he said in a baby voice, holding his hand out telling it to come here.

It was chewing on raw meat until it bit Raph's finger. He lurched backward and screamed. He punched it and kept fighting it.

"Get off of me, you little monster!" he yelled.

It got really crazy as the creature wrapped its tail around Raph's helmet, not allowing him to see.

"You're scratching the helmet!" he shouted then threw the monster out the door (luckily Jamie got out of the way before that happened).

"Okay, that was different," he said, not noticing Jamie sneak in.

The monster came back in and just tossed Raph around like a rag doll. Then it dunked his head in the water-filled sink and kept pushing his face in it.

"Hey, this thing ain't rustproof! Get off of me!" he hollered and punched it to the fridge.

It fell on the monster but burst through it. Then it tried to attack him again.

"Oh no you don't!" Jamie said and smacked the monster back with a cookie sheet.

Raph just looked in shock, because he didn't know who it was, but recovered.

"Come on," he challenged.

It charged and he tried to hit it with the skillets he had. He finally landed a shot, which gave Jamie the opportunity to smack it again. The monster recovered and growled.

"How about a snack, little fella? Catch," Raph suggested and threw these pills at the monster.

It ate them and burst into flames. As it ran away, smoke was coming out of its mouth. It ran out of the diner super fast. Jamie and Raph panted as they slowly fist bumped each other.

"Thanks for helping me. What's your name?" Raph asked.

Jamie removed her hood and said, "Hiya!"

His eyes widened as he took off his helmet and replied, "Jamie? What are you doing here?"

"I was in the neighborhood, looking for trouble, knowing you would never pass up the opportunity to stop it. Luckily, I didn't get kidnapped this time," she explained, making them both chuckle.

"But why?" he wondered.

"First reason: everyone's worried about you. Leo is too. And I volunteered to look for you; they didn't ask. Second reason, I have something to tell you," she answered.

"One: they don't need to be. And two: what is it you want to tell me?" he wondered.

She stepped forward and held his hand as he looked at her confused, she took a deep breath, and said, "I like you, Raphael. And I mean more than a friend. I have since you first rescued me when you were the Night Watcher before I found out who you were. And when I did, I liked you more and more. I wanted to tell you, but I was nervous."

It took Raph a minute to compose himself, but he responded, "You didn't need to be."

He then kissed her right on the lips and Jamie gladly kissed back. She smiled through the whole thing, as did he. They parted and rested their foreheads on each other's.

"So, will you be my boyfriend?" Jamie asked.

"You know it," Raph smirked.

They kissed quickly, Raph put his helmet back on, put his arm around her, and they walked into the main area of the diner.

"Keep on running, you filthy little hermit crab! That spicy meatball's on the house!" Raph yelled, making Jamie giggle.

"Big guy, please don't hurt me," the guy who worked there begged, backing away.

"Are you kidding me?" Jamie asked in disbelief.

"What? I'm not robbing you, I'm helping you," Raph replied.

"Okay, whatever you say, sir. Please, I got kids in college. Community college," the diner guy said.

"Here you go, pal. Make sure this is safe," Raph replied, handing him the money from the register.

"Take everything. I'm not even looking. Go," the diner guy responded.

"Why is it everyone's got such a hard time believing I am a good guy? I just saved your life. And if it wasn't for this girl, I wouldn't have been able to," Raph explained, frustrated.

That's when something came through the window and stabbed the register. Raph looked at it and Jamie saw who threw it.

"Raph, it's Leo," she told him.

"This night just keeps getting better and better," Raph grumbled then added, "Listen Jamie, you need to go back home."

"No, I'm not gonna let you do this alone," Jamie refused.

He got her back in the kitchen, removed his helmet, then gently argued, "Look, I have to find a way to deal with this. By myself. Okay?"

She sighed, kissed him, and answered, "Alright. I'll go."

He nodded, kissed her forehead, put the helmet back on, and ran out the shattered window of the diner.

"When pigs fly," Jamie whispered to herself and followed Leo so neither one of them would find her.

A/N Jamie and Raph finally hooked up and kissed after defeating an adorable monster! Yay! But now he and Leo have to deal with their issue. Will it all work out or will things crumble under pressure?
