To cheer you up when you're down
To love you the way you want
To be whatever you want to be
I've always wanted to be your rainbow
Giving you hope despite all the storm clouds
Showing you the beauty of this world
And reminding you it'll all get better
I've tried so hard to change myself
And being there when you need me
But alas, how could I forget
That position was never mine to begin with
I didn't have any intention of taking you with me
And I know you don't, either, because
You have her to carry, and your hands full with her
But that's okay, because I already know
I'll never be your sun
