Like the Fourth of July

A poem for lusting happiness and the urge to be free.

Like the fourth of July
The sky so bright
and colorful
Happiness spreads all over

I wish I could be
that colorful and happy
Joyful cheers and loud warming sounds

Bright as the sky can be
I see sparks flashing
in your eyes
Although it might be just a flash

But dear God, it is beautiful
I wish I could be there
With you
on the fourth of July

Happy as can be
We pour ourselves
together
forever

There might be no forever
But I wish
this moment
would last forever

Loud cheers and music
Hear me out
and listen to the beat
of my heart

As the fourth of July
We might as well be happy and free
Forget the sorrows and pains
of yesterday

Just watch the fireworks as they blast colorfully
Let's watch and celebrate
Hold hands and sing a song together
