The trip lasted what felt like years. Which in reality was only a few weeks.
Days of sea sickness, days of arguing about Jack accepting the role, and days of joyous laughter as they all drank and had fun.
It ended all too soon for Jack.
Before he knew it, they were docking at the coast of a rather large island. He couldn't help but gawk, it looked the same as in the movies and it blew his mind!
He wondered if the old scenes were still there. Probably aged and ruined beyond recognition.Jack leaned over the railing, green hair blowing in the wind, joined by Ross after a few moments. "Jack, I know your mind is set and all, but I need you to listen to me.."
Jack sighed, turning his gaze from the beautifully mysterious view to his friend, "I'm not gonna reconsider. I can't even if I wanted too, we're already here."
Ross shook his head, looking around, "I know that, but just.. be careful around Adam, ok? I know we're gonna be with you and all, but just.. watch your back ok?"
This peaked the green haired lads curiosity. "Do you not trust him? What's wrong with Adam?"
"I don't trust him as far as I can throw him, and I can't really explain it but-"
They were both startled by the hands that were harshly upon their shoulders, "Are you guys ready to go?"
Adam grinned at them both, Jack returned it as Ross just shifted uncomfortably.
"Ready as I'll ever be." The irishman sighed, picking up the small bag he'd packed for the journey.
"Great! C'mon, everyone's gathered on the deck."
As they walked, Jack and Adam trailed behind, sharing a worried glance that Adam had heard.
When everyone's on deck, Adam moved to the front of the group, Jack at his side.
"Alright everyone, I know this expedition is different from the last ones, and I wish it'd stop at just being a guy with the lead role. But, I've decided that it'll only be Jack and I going." He put up his hands ands everyone started shouting objections. "I know, he's your friend, but it's less likely the natives will attack us if we're just a small group, and I need to see how well Jack will fit in to the atmosphere without all of you distracting him."
Everyone couldn't agree less.
"But.. strength in numbers!"
"You're gonna get him killed!"
"Jack just stay here!"Adam wasn't having any of it, his patient demeanor crumbled and before long, he pulled out a silver pistol, shooting one off into the air to silence everyone.
And it worked.
"I'm the captain, and what I say goes." He growled, eyes scanning the faces of angry men in front of him, "and anyone who has any objections can jump over board. Now, back to your cabins"
Jack didnt know what to do, his hands gripped his bag as he looked at his friends. Everyone seemed pale, looking amongst each other as they avoided eye contact with Jack. Except for Arin. He met Jacks gaze dead on, but the look in his eyes didn't reassure him.
It made his stomach drop as he and Adam made their way off the boat."Are you ready for the big show, Jackaboy?" Adam beamed, giddy.
Jack just swallowed numbly, the beautiful jungle from before was now something ominous and horrifying.
So sorry this took a lot longer than I had planned!
