Fresh Beginning

Ring Ring!

"Ngh..." Lillian buried her face into the pillow, but the annoying ringing of her phone continued despite her efforts to block it out. "Ugh..." She finally gave in and swiped up the phone, answering the call. "Hello?"

"Hello? Lillian?" He answered.
"Dad, what do you want? It's so early..." She yawned sleepily.
"I need to tell you something. Something urgent."

She felt nervous at his tone. "What? What is it?"
"Well. He began "I'm a bit worried about you not hav-". He was interrupted by Lillian.
"Yeah, Yeah I know about powers".
"But it's not just that..." he sighed, "The police threaten to take you back to the first dimension if you don't get your abilities within a week."

Her eyes widened. "But, I belong here, not in the first dimension! How will I get my powers within a week?" replied Lillian with fury.

"...I don't know, but we'll figure something out. I know we will." Her father encouraged, making Lilian slightly more hopeful. She sighed, "Alright, I trust you. I gotta go now, bye."

Lilian hung up the phone. She thought to herself... How will I ever get my powers in a week? It's impossible...at least for me. Lillian shrugged, and decided to stop worrying and wake up her roommate Stephanie.

"Mm...good morning..." Stephanie said and practically fell off the bed, causing Lilian to giggle a bit. "Sleepyhead." She teased and walked over to the bathroom to get dressed. "How do you wake up so early..?" asked Stephanie, rubbing her eyes. "My dad woke me up today."

"Oh," she sighed and stood up off the bed, "Well do you wanna go to the club today? I'm meeting my friends there."
"Well...maybe." Lilian thought for a moment. She had nothing to do all day except study... She still had a few days before the test, so she was fine. "Umm, alright, I'll go."

"Yay!" Stephanie giggled and grabbed Lillian's jacket, "Can I borrow this?" Lillian sighed as she exited the bathroom. "Fine..."

"Yay!" said Stephanie with excitement. Lilian changed into some clothes and they headed out the door toward the club.

When they arrived at the club, Stephanie instantly ran off, leaving Lillian on her own. It was awkward, but she got some fun out of dancing at least. She went back early and fell asleep. School was tomorrow, and she had to be bright eyed and bushy tailed if she was gonna focus tomorrow.

The next day arrived, and Lillian had a strange feeling in her stomach. She felt a rumble in her stomach. She wasn't hungry, instead, she ran straight towards the toilet and let out a green fluid into the toilet!

As she looked up into the mirror, she suddenly noticed...
"Oh my god! I have wings!"
