Chapter 7

Today was the big day; and I asked to see my dad by my room. Everything I had was packed away, and I knew that Dar and Neckbreaker were only a few feet away. I knew even if I told him I needed a book to hold it out, he wouldn't do it; I was going to have to be in danger for him to risk taking it out.

I could hear him walking with a proxy named Sledgehammer. I rolled up my sleeve and closed my eyes, this was going to hurt. I stuck my right arm in the roof, watching it disappear in the thorns. I screamed in agony and acted as though I wanted to free it with my left hand. My dad ran in and saw me struggling. He went to pull my hand out with his hand, but I stopped him.

"You'll hurt yourself! Besides, I need something to hold it up, maybe a thing long enough, but medium thickness." He looked around for a few seconds, then reached into his suit and pulled it out.

It was brown and had signs of aging on it. I quickly grabbed it, and pulled my hand out.

"What?" he asked as I opened it. He picked me up by my neck, and I dropped it. "You little liar!" he screamed, "You knew about it! Who told you? Was it Mystery? Was it Jake? Was it the new proxy?" I tried to breathe, but his grip was too tight. I had visions of him doing this to my brother, I heard him scream and cry. This time, I didn't stop the memories. This time, I let myself remember.

"Eve, please," he screamed. I heard a cracking sound and looked up. His neck was bent on an odd position.
"Now?" Slenderman had asked.
"Now what?" I responded.

Slenderman lifted me higher in the air and I felt my world start to go dark. That's when I felt it; that's when I felt my powers.

I casted a shadow surrounding us and threw the blanket of darkness over him. I felt my eyes glow white, and I said without thinking,

"Born from the shadows

There comes a little light

Her hair was dark

And her eyes glow white

Her eyes once violet

Her sky no loner blue

But once her powers kick in

Is the day Slender shall rue."

I caused air to pick up the book, and I placed my palm on one of the pages.

"Now!" Neckbreaker said as she and Dar ran towards us. Slenderman dropped me and began to look weak.I threw my hands up in the air and like a vacuum, Slenderman was getting sucked in. He grabbed on to the ground, his nails scratching against the dirt.

"Eve, stop this, now! We can be a family! I'm the only family you have, that boy you love him, don't you?" Slenderman asks.

"More then myself," I answer.

"You haven't known him for as long as you've know me, I'm your father, Eve!"

"I've known you for too long."

"He didn't tell you what happens to proxies, did he?"

"What?"

"Don't listen to him, Elvira!" Dar shouts.

"What does he mean, Damien?"

"We're free if he dies, kill him and we're free!" Neckbreaker shouts over the loud wind. With that; my father, the Slender man, is captured forever in this book.

"We did it guys, we did it!" I shout.

"That's great," Dar says closing his eyes and beginning to fall down, "Good job."

"Dar!" I shout running over to him after he falls.

"What happens after I capture Slenderman?" I ask.

"You set us free," Neckbreaker says smiling, "Just like I said." When she falls over dead, I under stand what she meant.

I look back at Dar, who is dying in my arms.

"You knew you were goint to die, but you still came?"

"Of corse I did."

"Damien?" I ask.

"Yeah Elvira?" He responds using what is left of his energy to stroke my hair. I push my fringe away, looking him in both of his grey eyes.
