Slendy's little girl chapter 3
I walk to the spot Dar and I agreed to meet. I wait for a few minutes; what if he doesn't show up? This was so stupid, to think I could have a friend who wasn't a proxy.
"Hey," I hear him say.
"You came!" I say smiling.
"Of coarse I did."
He's wearing a grey hoodie, white sneakers, and jeans. I can see he's got a black shirt on underneath. I have on a blue shirt, dark blue jeans, and black shoes.
"I wish I could come here more often, but my parents are so strict," he sighs.
"Tell me about it," I say.
"You're parents can't be that strict."
"My dad is."
"What about your mom?"
"I...I don't have a mother."
"Hey, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked."
"It's cool, why are you parents so strict?"
"I wish I knew. They want a son who is more open in the friendly air, not a freak show like me. The other day when I asked if I could get a tattoo, they flipped, especially my mom."
"One time I asked my dad if I could go to a parlor to have my eye brow pierced."
"What did he say?"
"He told me I wasn't going anywhere."
"My parents hate how I dress, they can't take the color black."
"My dad loves it."
"Man, I wish I had your dad." I'm not sure weather to laugh at that, or fear for this boy.
"No you don't."
"So, why are you in these woods anyway?"
"I'd rather not answer that."
"....OK."
"So about the girl you were talking about yesterday, the one who's birthday it was-"
"Another girl who's birthday it was killed, along with her friend."
"Oh...." So that's where he got the cake. "What about the one you told me yesterday, what do you know about her?"
"Not much, I just know her and her brother were taken, some people say by...."
"By who?"
"You'd think I was crazy."
"Try me." After a while he nods and starts to speak.
"By Slenderman."
"You mean A slender man or THE Slenderman."
"THE Slenderman. They say they were just two more of his victims. The strange thing is, they never found the girl, only the guy."
"Where?"
"They found him hung from a tree with hiss organs stuffed into plastic bags and then back inside him. Gross, huh?"
"Are the parents still alive?"
"Yeah, they put up fliers of the girl all around, even though she probably grew up by now, or she died."
"Hey, I have to go, we'll meet here tomorrow the same time. Right?"
"Yeah," he says standing up, "Until then, bye Eve!"
"Bye Dar!"
We run in our different directions. I go down in my room and look at the new teddy bear. I draw some spiral designs and two "X" over the eyes. After that, I hear my dad call for me.
"Yeah, dad?" I ask.
"Here," he says handing my a small voodoo doll on a keychain.
"Thank you," I say putting it in a small outer pocket of my bag. I'm so glad that I turned out liking the "Emo," style as Neckbreaker would say, dad would hate it if I was girly. I walk around and Neckbreaker and my other friend Tom runs up to me.
"Happy after birthday!" they yell.
"Thanks guys," I say lightly hugging them.
"We got you gifts."
"Aww, thank you guys. You're awesome!"
"Remember you said that next time you want to kill us," Neckbreaker says.
I open Neckbreaker's gifts. It's a black hoodie with a purple broken heart on the front of it and a red hair chalk.
"Thank you, I love them!" I say.
"Here," Tom says handing me a box. I open it to see a skull necklace.
"Thank you!" I say.
"I wanted to get you a bike, but I know your dad wouldn't approve of it. That guy riding it wouldn't either."
"You have one now though."
"Yep, and if your dad says it's okay then maybe one time you can ride it."
"Cool," I say smiling and hugging them again.
The next day I waited around in my red tee shirt and black jeans. I chalked a part of my hair red, I hope Dar will notice. I hear some rustling by the gate.
"You came!" I say happily.
"Of course I came, why wouldn't I?" he asks as he sits down on the grass, "I like you hair."
"Thanks," I say sitting across from him.
"I just bought a new album, want to listen?" he says holding up a small red and black headphone. I know what an album is (one proxy taught me) and I used to have headphones, dad got them for me to keep my isolated and busy as a kid.
"Sure," I say. He pulls it through the hole in the gate. We lay down on the grass and listen.
I wish I could be there on the side with him, rather then this gate separating us. The music is loud, but not very. It's not heavy metal, it's a punk rock (there IS a difference). We turn our heads to look at each other for a second, and then go back to watching the clouds. This has now become a regular thing for us. For the next week it goes on the same, us talking, laughing, listening to music, and every time he would show up I would say "You came." I got makeup once, but he didn't like it that much.
"I thought you would like it..." I say wiping the eyeliner and lipstick off my face.
"You don't need to change yourself, especially for me," he says. That's something that I will always remember.
