Chapter 8
This boy, lying in my arms about to die, this hero, saved me. Like I said; the only advantage I get in life is if other people die.
"Dar, I love you," I say. He chokes out a laugh, and then we kiss. When I pull away, he is dead. I burst into tears, and begin screaming.
"You liars! You freaking liars!" I yell, "You never told me! It's not worth it, it's not worth it!" I won't stop sobbing, I'm never going to get over this.
"I won't forget you," I whisper stroking his cheek; he's gone.
Wait, unless. I use my strength to try to carry him, until I find Jake.
"What the heck?" he asks trying to stand up, "You killed Slendy, didn't you?" Jake was actually happy about being a proxy.
"Jake, do my powers say anything about being able to bring a proxy back?"
"Only one, and don't look at me, I'm dying for my master," he says collapsing. I run back to mystery and stare down at her; she wanted to die. She'd rather die then live another day here.
We all wear masks, no matter how happy or sad or "glamorous" or "Emo," we may seem, we all wear masks.
I lay Dar down and feel the light surge through me.
"Please work," I beg. I feel the energy nearly consume me, and I gently touch Dar. His eyes glow red, and then fade to black. The lights turn off, and he opens his eyes and breaths.
"Hey," he says smiling.
"Dar!" I shout throwing myself over him I finally stop crying and we both sit up.
"You came back...you....you came!" I lean it to kiss him when he answers,
"Of corse I did."
We head back to his house, and his parents don't believe him. I take one of the hands and show them just a few images of what I've seen, they're horrified and then we head up to his room. I see the red and black walls and a "Slenderman" poster. I hold the book in my hands, he shall remain in there forever. We climb over the fence we used to meet by, and I burry the book with a note pinned to it.
"These are full of drawings
But are not to be displayed
For if you show them to the public
The world will end its days."
The police are collecting the proxies bodies and will burry them in their own cemetery. I walk up to Tom's casket and gently touch my skull necklace.
"Hey, thanks for letting Dar use that bike, he wouldn't have been able to reach me trying to kill Slenderman otherwise." I walk over to Jake's. "I know I killed your idol, but thank you. If it weren't for you, Damien would be dead, so thank you." I reach into my pocke and pull out the voodoo keychain.
"He would have loved to have you as a son," I say clipping it on to the casket.
I walk up to mystery's, "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you would die. I wish I could have saved more then one proxy." I walk to Neckbreaker's and salute her. It's the only sigh of respect I know.
"You somehow became my best friend, I'm going to miss you," I say, "I'll keep the hoodie you gave me forever, I'll always have it. That way, you can always be there with me."
"You know, meeting you was a great birthday present," I say holding Dar's hand as we sit in the police station.
"Thanks, was it the best?" he asks.
"I don't know, the red hair chalk the my best friend gave me was pretty awesome," I joke.
"Alright, Elvira," one policeman says, "There are two people who want to see you." I stand up and let go of Dar's hand. He smiles at me and I walk with the policeman. A reporter is in the room, taking photos as I see my parents, my REAL parents for the first time in a decade.
They run up to me and hug me.
"We've missed you so much," my dad say with tears in his eyes.
"All along, we hoped we would find you," my mother says crying.
