~Chapter One~
"You know I can't stand those who run. Stop trying to escape."
The young man scrambled to his feet and started running. He gasped when his nightmare walked in front of him.
"Do me a favor, and stay still." The girl growled.
Something glittered in her hand, and the man saw the blade of the girl's pocket knife.
"You owe my Master a lot of money, Tenko. If you don't pay up soon, I'll have to spill your blood. You don't want that, do you?"
The man shook his head quickly, and the girl smiled.
"Good. Now get the money before I am sent to kill you."
The girl turned and walked away, acting as if nothing had happened between her and the citizen. She chuckled to herself and flicked the switchblade, making it shut.
"Man, I should've gotten into the Dollars a long time ago. This is pretty fun. Hmmm.... I wonder if Izaya is on his roof today. I feel like messing with him." She smiled.
Tuno Hicachi, Ikebukuro's own psychotic human. She was the only girl Izaya Orihara even acknowledged. She was the only one he ever cared for. The only one he.... loved.
"You've come up a bit early today." Izaya said, listening to the top stairs creak. There were two flights between him and his closest friend.
"Well, I thought I might drop by. I was in the neighborhood." Tuno replied.
"Yes, I know. I watched it from here. You're doing well. What else have you done for the higher ranks?"
"Not much. They always leave me to do their dirty work."
"Not fun enough for you now?"
"I'd rather have the luxury of sitting on a roof and watching the chaos below unwind."
Izaya smiled and faced the girl. He gasped when he saw that she had her blade to her wrist. "What? Don't do that!" He ordered.
She smiled lightly. "Izaya, I didn't spill any blood today. My contract says if I don't, I must spill my own."
"Please! I'll let you spill mine! Don't hurt yourself!"
He could see small drops of blood running down her arm. Izaya growled and ran to the girl. He grabbed the hand that held the knife and forced her to stab his chest.
"Izaya!" The girl gasped.
She pulled the knife from his chest, and she tossed it aside. She caught him before he fell. "Damn. That really hurt." He groaned.
"Izaya, why did you do that?" Tuno asked.
"You've always hurt yourself. I didn't want you to do it in front of me." Izaya answered.
"B-But you m-made me s-stab your c-chest."
Izaya smiled at the girl. "I know what I did. Can you do me a favor?"
"What is it?"
"Take me to your house. Mine is far away, and I won't get anywhere with this wound."
"Shouldn't I take you to a hospital first?"
"I heard a rumor that you are good at medical stuff."
"But it might have hit a vital organ."
"I'll be fine with you taking care of me."
Tuno looked at the concrete floor. She froze when Izaya touched her cheek. "You don't need to worry about me. I know you'll do as great of a job as any hospital workers." He said.

"Thanks. Why don't you go get what you need? I'll stay right here." Izaya said, sitting on Tuno's couch. She nodded once and walked away. Izaya sighed. Tuno had stayed silent the entire way to her home, her arm around Izaya as support, and he knew it was his fault.
"Take off your jacket and shirt. It will make it easier on me if your clothes aren't in the way." Tuno ordered, not taking even a little glance at Izaya.
Izaya sighed again and removed his jacket and shirt. Tuno drained all of the water from the washcloth she had in her hands, and she walked over to Izaya. He clenched his teeth together when she gently cleaned his bare skin, wiping away the now dry blood.
"I didn't think you could be so gentle." He whispered, watching as she handled his wound.
She leaned away when she grabbed a spray bottle. "Tilt your head up. This stings, and it'll burn if it gets in your eyes." She said to Izaya.
He did as he was told, and he growled when she sprayed his wound. She held a piece of what seemed to be a bandage to his wound, and she taped it in place.
"There. I'm done." She said, her voice emotionless. "I'll wrap it the other way when that bandage is soaked. For now, get some rest."
She stood up, and she made Izaya lay flat on the couch. He watched as she laid a blanket over him.
"What will you do while I sleep?" He asked.
"I don't know. I'll think of something."
He reached out and grabbed her wrist, preventing her from leaving. "Then lay down with me. I don't want you to leave and get hurt."
"No. Let go of me."
"Please?"
"I said no!"
Izaya froze. Tuno was shaking slightly, and it was rare for her to yell out like that. Then he saw her tears.
"Why are you crying?" He asked.
"Because I was told not to get involved with you! Now let go of me!" She begged.
And he did. He had no choice. She ran from him, and he heard a door slam.
