~Chapter Three~

"Izaya!"

"No!"

The young man screamed and sat up, his fear bringing him out of his nightmare. He could hear footsteps as the girl ran to his room. He clutched the blanket in his hands, tears streaking his face.

Then the door opened. "Are you okay, Izaya?" Tuno asked.

"I-I'm fine. Just go back to bed." He answered, hiding his tears from her.

"You're not fine. What's wrong?"

"Bad dream."

He let her crawl onto his bed, and she hugged him. "It's okay." She whispered. Izaya held onto her and cried.

"This isn't like you, Izaya. What happened in that dream?" Tuno asked.

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Please? I want to know what scared you."

"Shizuo and I were fighting, and you interfered. Shizuo pulled out a knife and stabbed you. I couldn't do anything to help, so I held you while you bled out."

Izaya replayed the image in his head, and he trembled wildly. Tuno held onto him, afraid of seeing him like this.

"I wont leave you, Izaya. I promise." She whispered.

She had never seen him break down like this. She sighed and kissed his cheek. "Let's get to bed." She murmured. She made Izaya lay down, and he grabbed her wrist.

"Please." He begged. "Don't leave me."

She smiled and hugged him. He pulled the blanket over her and held her in place.

"I love you."

"I love you, too, Tuno."

Izaya's POV

I woke up to a high-pitched scream. My heart sank when I realized that Tuno was gone.

"It's a girl!" Someone on the street yelled.

I got to my feet, pulled on my clothes and jacket, and ran down the stairs. I gasped when I got out of my home. A body was laying on top of a car, the window shield smashed under the impact before I had woken up.

"Get up! I know you can move!" A girl barked. I watched as she climbed onto the car and grabbed onto the body. She pulled it up, and the other girl looked at her.

"Something wrong, Sakura?" Oh no. That's Tuno! Blood ran down her face. She seemed to be bruised, like they had been fighting for hours. The girl holding her, Sakura, shook her violently.

"Stop! You'll kill her!" Shinra? What's he doing here?

He stepped out of the crowd, and both of the girls looked at him. Tuno's eyes were wide with pain. I ran to them and pulled Sakura away from her.

"What's your problem?" I snapped.

Shizuo walked up behind her, tapped her shoulder, and punched her when she looked at him. She fell to the ground, and my attention fell on Tuno. I took her hands in mine, and she stared at me.

"She can't see you, Izaya. She went into a haze after Sakura shook her." Shinra said, walking up to the car. Shizuo helped me pull Tuno away from the glass, and I couldn't deal with the amount of blood coming from her.

The back of her head was injured, her black long hair soaked with blood at the top. Her back had multiple pieces of glass sticking into the skin.

"Let's get her to my place." Shinra suggested. I didn't argue. My home was closer, but he knew how to take care of her. She turned her head toward me, and her lips touched the corner of my mouth. "Must be a rough morning for you, Izaya." She muttered. She went limp, and we carried her to Shizuo's car. I sat in the back. Shizuo and Shinra were up front.
