Dan's POV

*ding*

I stand up as the doors of the tube open, trying to squeeze through the crowd of people also getting off at this stops.  I re-adjusted my earbuds. Undisclosed desires, my favorite song by muse, was playing on Spotify. I sang along to the words:

I want to reconcile the violence in your heart
I want to recognize your beauty is not just a mask

Suddenly, I felt myself crash against someone else and  I stumbled and fell backwards, landing on my butt.

"Oops," a man's voice said. It sounded familiar, for some reason, but I can't seem to figure out why. " I guess I didn't see you there. Let me help you up." He held out his hand. I hesitated for a second before taking it and he pulled me up.

Still not looking at him,  I replied saying. " No, it's my fault, I wasn't watching where I was going." I felt my face heat up.  "Sor-" I finally gathered the courage to look him in the eyes. "Ry.Phil?" I smiled, feeling my fanboy kick in. "You're @AmazingPhil, aren't you?!"

Phil laughed and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, I am. You watch my videos? You probably think they're kinda weird."

"No," I blushed. " I think you're really cool."  I looked at his  blue eyes again, which were staring back at me intently, and I quickly looked back down at my feet.

"Oh, really? Well," he chuckled. "Thanks, I guess. Hey, what are you listening to?" He snatched one of the buds out of my ears, and before I can take it back from him he put it in his own ear.

I felt my face flush with embarrassment, as I didn't think he'd like the song. "I know," I said. "It's not that good."

"No," his voice was hushed. "Is this Muse?"

 "Yes, you listen to them?"

"Yeah, I love their music."

"Me too!" I said excitedly. Me and the boy I've been watching through my computer screen all this time ACTUALLY have something in common?!  I decided  that even though it was a risk, I would ask Phil to be my friend. " Hey, Phil, say- well, we both like muse, and I- uh, do you wanna be friends?" I asked hopefully. I bit my lip, waiting anxiously for his answer.

"Uh, sure." He smiled at me, and I looked away again.

wow, i thought. He looks just as good in real life.

and that's the story of how Phil became my best friend.
