"Do you believe in reincarnation?" Dan asked. Phil looked at him, confused. Thinking that the younger lad was just joking he said,"Yeah, of course I do! Did you know I was a lion in my past life? I didn't either, but that would be pretty cool!" This caused Dan to laugh.
"Yeah, and it would explain a lot, too!" Dan paused, suddenly getting serious. He looked out the window, avoiding Phil's gaze. He could still feel the ebony-haired boy's eyes on him, and his face turned bright red as he said, " But in all seriousness, Phil, do you believe in reincarnation? Be honest."
Phil, suddenly feeling befuddled and alarmed, did not answer for a while. After what felt like an hour, he finally said, "Is- isn't that when you die and come back to life in a new form or something? I- I guess it could happen, but I'm not sure if I believe it's real or not. Why?"
"I was just thinking... never mind, it's stupid anyway. You probably won't understand." Dan sighed, disappointed. He wanted to tell Phil about his weirdass dreams, tell him about the mysterious ginger boy that keeps popping up in his mind, and see if Phil could help make sense of it. But he was worried the older boy would not take him seriously or just be too curious and overly concerned like he always is.
However, though Phil wasn't typically the serious type, he could sense that Dan was holding back from telling him something that must be important to him. In an attempt to prompt it from Dan he said, "Let's assume it is real then. What about it? What're you trying to tell me?"
Hesitant yet anxious to get it off his chest, Dan demanded Phil to promise not to laugh. Once Phil complied, Dan told him all about the dreams he has constantly been having since he met Phil in Manchester. When he was done, Phil nodded his head and said slowly" That's very, erm, interesting, Dan. Do you mind explaining, why do you think you keep having these dreams- Dan are you crying?"
Dan's face was in his hands and his shoulders were shaking. When he finally calmed down enough to actually speak, he told Phil, "I think I met you before."
"Yeah, we met like 8 years ago, remember?"
"No, like when we were just kids."
"Wait, you went to Manchester Elementary School *(AN: idk if that's a real school or not i don't know what school he went to so i used a fake one pls don't look it up :p)?"
"No, silly," Dan chuckled, taking his face out of his hands. "I mean, I think we met before, but in- in a past life."
