As the sun shined in Branches face, he stirred awake, realizing that there was an empty spot beside him. He jolted up, turning his head towards his nightstand beside him. A pink sticky note was stuck onto it, and the teal troll picked it up to read.
"Branch, went out to find the gang really quick. Needed to ask a question about scrapbooking paper. I'll be home soon. Lots of love, Poppy <3"
It was a little odd to see her up that early, but after the migraine she had the day before, she was probably dying to get out there. Getting out of bed, he looked at the clock. Almost nine o'clock. Branch shuffled into the kitchen as he put on a pot of tea. He walked away for a split second to wash his face when he heard the front door open and close. The pink troll looked around the house, investigating where he had gone. He poked his head out of the bathroom door and made eye contact with her.
"There you are. How was the snack pack?"
Poppy could feel her nerves chill up her spine, but couldn't allow her husband to see them. As much as she hated keeping stuff from Branch, this was a conversation she wasn't ready to have with him at that moment.
"Oh, fine. I was gonna stay a little longer but I gotta get ready to go to the schoolhouse." She said as she went to pick up her storybook.
"You wanna tag along?" Branch shook his head negatively.
"No thanks. I'm actually gonna go around town today and see if anyone needs help with anything."
The pink troll smiled as her eyebrows rose.
"Oh? Nice to see you helping out. Maybe we can meet afterwards?"
"I think I'd like that."
Poppy couldn't help but become hypnotized my his blue eyes. But she quickly snapped herself out of it when she thought about her conversation with the snack pack. Quickly pecking his cheek, she was off to the schoolhouse. It felt good to be back in the swing of things.
Branches looked at the door she had just walked out of. He couldn't help but feel something sink in his heart. Despite this feeling, he went into the other room, put on his vest, and walked out of his bunker to head to the troll village.
Hours had past and Branch had actually helped quite a few trolls. Whether it was helping someone put together a clubhouse, to simply helping a child open a tube of paint. It felt good to help them out instead of hiding in his bunker or out collecting supplies for a trap. A smile was painted on his face as he saw the snack pack walk towards the happy troll.
"Hey guys." Spoke the teal troll. The group was enthused when they saw his bright smile.
"Hey, there's a happy looking guy." Cooper said with a smile of his own.
"So I'm guessing your talk with Poppy went well." Biggie said. Branch's smile began to fade as he began to look at the large troll, slightly confused.
"Talk with Poppy? What are you talking about?"
The happy expressions on their faces faded as well as they all looked at each other, faces that said 'oh no I don't think we were suppose to say something..'
"Guys, what are you talking about?"
"She-" Satin started.
"Hasn't talked to you about it?" Chenille continued.
"Talked with me about what??"
Sorry for making you wait so long again!! Hope you enjoy!!
