Chapter Thirty-Nine

For weeks, I trained as hard as I could and I went through all the files concerning my mom. After each training session, I'm exhausted, but I start to notice that it pays off. I get better and better. Everyone's sure where I get most of my genes from and Ryan even admits it from time to time. And every time, I find the courage to have a second look in my mom's never-ending files. I just have to know. The problem, however, is that I never get further than the facts, I never see any personal, subjective reports. I mean, she does have personal reports, but she's always very objective. No personal feelings. That bugs me.

I know she had to protect the British boyband One Direction on her first mission. And that she had to go undercover as a pregnant intern stylist. She needed to get close to the members and crew, be friends, so she could reach their personal stories. And she really did well because even when they found out she was undercover and it all was a lie, they kept supporting her. A definition of real friendship, I guess. I haven't found any specific details of their relationship, though. Who knows, maybe she was romantically involved with someone running around over there and maybe one of them is my biological father.

But during the mission, she'd had a lot of contact with Visioned. She had been captured for quite some time once and after she got rescued by Heather, she went back to London and started a relationship with my dad, Cully. She gave birth to two children, but remained a CIA agent while that boyband continued being famous. And four years later, Visioned got to her again. Again, she was captured and was free again and at an age of thirty, one day before her thirty-first birthday, she died. Gunshot wound straight through the heart.

That is the information I find in the most extensive files. Other files are just little mission, unimportant in my personal opinion. They all have something to do with Visioned, I looked into them, but they are all from after I was born so I won't find any clues about my biological father in there.

I believe my father has something to do with that first mission. Even if there's nothing to find in the files anymore, I'm pretty sure it's all about the first mission. I'm quite sure of it because surprise, surprise, I was born about nine months after... But no one has a little bit of potential to be my father. My prime suspect is one of the boys from One Direction, that boyband.

But would my mum really risk the entire mission to date one of the boys? And who would date and... go to bed with a pregnant girl, their stylist? Moreover, I can't find anything on the internet about their relationship either. But what can you still find there from seventeen years ago? Nothing, believe me. I've searched every website, but I found nothing about that boyband except for their names, albums, movies, tours... Things I already know. What else did I find? Kids and spouses, barely any exes, maybe if you dig deep enough you will find a name. I never found my mother's, though.

But Visioned has always been one step in front of the CIA, haven't they? What if they know who my biological father is? But how do I have to figure out what they know? Oh, wait, didn't someone tell me they have someone on the inside? Someone who infiltrated the organisation? Maybe he or she could...
