My Heart Over My Head

CHAPTER FIVE

I hang out at the apartment with Dylan and Ella - Ella was supposed to go on a date but cancelled - I don't know why because I'm fine. Dylan was meant to go into work but sent kale in his place again I don't know why but hey they are adults they can make their own choices. I lay on the couch with Dylan and we watch movies with a blanket covering us I didn't want anything but to relax, take my mind off what happened and to feel safe - but the first too where easier said than done. I felt safe because no matter what I always felt safe with Dylan.

The next morning I wake up in my bed I don't know how I got there but I did Dylan must have carried me in. He was still in bed but I slipped out without disturbing him and went to make a coffee in the kitchen. Everything yesterday had me rethinking my entire life including my future the one I had mapped out and the one with Dylan. The way I feel about him has slightly changed but I still love him my heart is telling me to stay with him but my head is telling me to get the fuck away from him. I think back to the words of the psychic - listen to your heart. Well I do that and I know I still want him more than anything but I'm not sure about anything else. I crawl back into bed with my coffee and drink it flicking through my phone.
"Morning" Dylan smiles sitting up and kissing my cheek. "I've got a few things to do today but kale is coming over to stay with you."
"Great!" I say sarcastically
"His fine" he replies
Soon after Dylan is dressed and ready kale turns up.
"I'm here for baby sitting duty" he says rolling his eyes.
"Watch yourself" Dylan says punching him in the arm.

Dylan leaves and kale sits on the couch.
"You know this is all really unnecessary ."
"Yeah that's what I think but apparently my dumb ass brother doesn't think so." He says "I've never seen him like this his way to protective."
"Yeah."
"The guys dead and the others won't link it to you I think it was random Dylan has it in his head that it was personal."
"I don't know how.. We've hardly been around each other locally."
"It's not just local you have to worry about there are eyes everywhere.." He sighs "but that's not the point. His never even had the chance to see you working or what path you take so I have no idea how it was personal."
"Do you want a joint?"
"Ha! Dylan would kill me if he knew I was smoking weed with his girl while I was supposed to be on alert.. But why not?" He laughs
We head outside and share one maybe kale wasn't as bad as I thought.
"So Dylan said you met my mum?"
"Yeah" I reply "she's lovely!"
"When she's not manic"
"Oh" I reply "so do you live at the hotel too?"
"Nah, I live with a couple of friends not far from there." He smiles "so how's your head?"
"It fucking hurts" I reply
"Dylan said Ryan gave you some painkillers."
"I was hoping the joint would fix it I don't really like painkillers.."
"So we do have something in common?" He smirks

The more I got to know Kale the more I liked him - he was nice and I could see so many similarities in his personality that remind me of Dylan.
"So did my brother tell you what happened the other day?"
"About Destiny?"
"Yeah her brother is pretty messed up."
"Good morning!" I hear come from the door way we both turn around and Ella is standing in the doorway wearing her pjs with her hair a mess. "You're not Dylan!"
"This is Kale, Dylan's brother." I smile "this is Ella."
"Umm hi!" She smiles and before Kale has a moment to reply goes back inside I could tell she was going to get changed ASAP.. She comes out a while later with a face full of make up, her hair done and dressed up.. Someone was trying to impress Kale.
"So where's Dylan?" She asked
"Out" I smile "had to go and get some stuff done."
"So Ella what do you do?" Kale winks at her
"Oh shit here we go" I think to myself
"I'm a fashion student and work at a clothing shop." She smiles "What about you?"
"Ha!" He laughs "I work at my brothers club."
"Yeah sure kale that's all you do.." I think to myself.
"How long have you two lived here?"
"Since we where 17" she replies
"I'm going to have a shower" I smile

I walk into the bathroom and shower and wash my hair the water stings my head. I get dressed and walk out into the living area Kale and Ella are still chatting so I grab my phone. I look at it and I have a text from Dylan.
'How's my brother treating you?'
'Fine 😊 but his treating Ella better 😳😜' I reply
'Why doesn't that surprise me' he quickly types back 'I won't be too much longer.'
'Haha I don't think Kale cares how long you take anymore 😝😍'
'Ha! That would be right! See you soon 💜'
I lay on my bed and smile - even though so much drama has happened since I'm so glad I met Dylan. My head is still throbbing so I give in and take a painkiller. A while later my phone dings again.
'Do you need anything? I'm on my way back.'
'No, just you 💋' I reply quickly
About 15 minutes later there is a ding at the elevator and I get up to get it.
"No!" I hear Kale say "I'll get it."
"It'll just be Dylan."
"And that's more reason for me to get it." He smirks
He answers the door and sure enough it is Dylan. I go up to him and hug him he kisses me on top of my forehead.
"You're good now Kale." He smiles
"Nah, I might hang around for a while." He replies
"How did I know you where going to say that man... A few hours ago you didn't even want to be here."
Kale pulls the finger at Dylan. "Wanna give these two idiots some space and go and get something to eat?" He turns to Ella
"Sure" she smiles and goes off to get her bag.
"Classy man" Dylan laughs at him as ale runs up to him and high fives him.

Kale and Ella head out and Dylan carries me back to bed.
"So I thought Ella had a boyfriend?"
"No not really she hasn't had much luck with guys" I reply
"Well Kale seems to have taken a liking to her." He smirks "but I would have bet money on that happening!"
"Ladies man?"
"Just a little."
"If he hurts her I'll..." I was cut off
"You'll have to beat me to it!" He replies
"So what did you have to go do?"
"Just some work." He replies
"Okay" I say trying not to pry it was something I hated doing and I've seemed to do a lot of it recently.

-Dylan's POV-

Well it's over now well last night anyway - I now know that piece of scum is dead and buried he can't hurt Sienna again and that was satisfaction in itself. The boys had held him over night so I could finish things off myself I didn't want to do anything around Sienna last night but it's done now. As I held her in my arms I knew I would make sure I would never let anything happen to her she was so special to me - I can safely say I've never thought that before. Sienna you have no fucking idea what you've done to me. She's changed me more than ever, I'm thinking about someone other than myself and my family and that is a first. It was a week ago today I met my beautiful girl and it felt like forever ago I feel like I've known her forever.
"What are you thinking about?" She asks
"How I'm always going to keep you safe." I wink at her
"You better" she smiles

We lay on the bed for ages until I hear the door - Sienna is asleep so I get up to check it out. It's Ella and Kale.
"Hey" smiles Ella
"How was lunch?"
"Good" she smiled "how's Si?"
"Tired and sore" I reply "I think still shaken up too but she's not letting on about it."
"She's good at covering things up." Ella replies turning to Kale "wanna watch TV?"
"Yeah, I just need to talk to Dylan quickly I'll be in in a minute."
"Okay" she smiles and walks into her room.
"They're everywhere" Kale frowns at me "I think you where right."
"Fuck" I reply "I thought that, I was but I was hoping I was wrong."
"Now Ella has been seen with me we can't leave them alone."
"I get that." I reply "I think I'll bring them to stay with me at least there are boys on the door at the hotel."
"Yeah I think I'll come with you too, in case you need the back up.."
"Sure that's the only reason." I smirk at him but now I'm worried "you'll need to go and tell Ella that she's coming to stay at mine I'm going to wake up Sienna and tell her the same. Don't tell Ella too much we don't need to freak them out."
"Yeah" I know

I walk into Sienna's room as Kale goes into Ella's.
"Baby, wake up" I say to Si stroking her face.
She takes a minute to stir "yeah"
"We need to go to my place."
"Why"
Oh fuck what do I say now..
"Please Si, we just do."
"Okay" she smiles "for how long?"
"I'm not sure just pack enough clothes for a while."
"Okay" she replies
Sienna pulls a suit case out from under her bed and starts to pack her stuff up. I walk out into the family room and Kale is standing out on the balcony staring out.
"Did anybody say anything?" I ask him
"No" he replies "I just saw them - they stood out everywhere we went."
"Are you armed"
"Always."
"Good." I reply "we need to get out of here now."

I go back in and Sienna is still packing.
"We need to go!" I snap
"Dylan I'm going as fast as I can."
"I'm sorry we just need to get out of here."
Finally the girls are packed and I check around if there is anything else they might need I don't want to come back over something little like a phone charger. I have the boys waiting downstairs in a matching car to mine. We need a decoy and I've organized one. They leave before I do and then 15 minutes later we go.
"What's going on?" Ella asks
"Nothing beautiful" replies Kale
"Beautiful?" I mock "that was quick!!"
"Look who's talking." Kale says back
"Yeah yeah" I laugh "fuck you!"
"That's not a nice way to speak to your baby brother..."
I think Ella got the hint she didn't ask again.

-Sienna's POV-

Something's going on and I'm basically clueless I think it's got something to do with last night but I also think Dylan is overreacting however so did Kale a few hours ago but now he seemed just as concerned as Dylan. Ella and I have both tried to ask but we've basically both been shut down every single time. One thing I was for sure is Kale has a major thing for Ella and I think she feels the same. We pull up at the hotel and Dylan and Kale grab our bags and take us up to Dylan's place.
"You know where my room is." He smiles at me handing me my suit case "I'll just show Ella hers. If you want to unpack go into my wardrobe there is plenty of room"
I pull my suitcase into Dylan's room and lay it on the floor. I walk into his wardrobe and look into it it's massive and there was an entire side that was free. I opened up my bag and unpacked my stuff. I felt uneasy about all of this but I knew as long as Dylan was with me I was safe. Plus the matching tattoos of the Grim Reaper on Dylan and kale's necks where the same as two of the guys on the front door at the hotel I knew they where all together. I wouldn't be surprised if there where a few more boys with the reaper tattoos around. I feel so bad I've dragged Ella into this I knew I should have stayed away when I first saw him but I couldn't and in a way I'm glad I didn't. I think the way Kale is acting now his realized this was personal. I finish hanging up my clothes and walk out to the balcony and grab one of Dylan's joints. I light it and suck it down very quickly by the time I'd finished I felt so insanely stoned I go inside and lay down on the couch.

I must have fallen asleep because after a while I wake up to chatting, joking and laughing coming from the balcony. Next thing there is a knock on the door Dylan passes me not realizing I was awake and answers it.
"Hey boys." He says
"Hey what's going on?"
"Come up stairs." He replies and the three of them walk upstairs I get up and go out to the balcony to see Ella smiling at Dylan with this stupid smile. Someone was crushing bad.
"Hey sleepy head." She smiles
"Hey" I smile "what's going on?"
"Nothing, we've just been hanging out here trying not to wake you."
"Thanks" I smile
I walk over to Dylan's little box and gran out another joint it was finally helping my head - and my nerves. I lit it up and started smoking it.
"You've found his stash already" Kale laughs
"He showed me." I reply
"His a brave man!" He teases
"Oh shut it!" I laugh
"Is it working for your head yet?"
"Sure is." I reply
I hear the front door and then Dylan walking towards the back door.
"Someone's thieving out of your stash" Kale laughs at Dylan.
"As long as it's not you I don't care" he replies punching him in the arm.
"I'm hungry" I say
"Because she's thieving from the stash" Kale teases
"Go order something" Dylan smiles
"I want a burger" Kale says
"Me too!" Ella pipes in
"Well you may as well order me one too." Laughs Dylan

I go and order some food for everyone.. I decide I'm different to everyone else and order myself a club sandwich.. Then I walk back outside to the others. My phone starts to ring and I realize it's mum.
"Hello?"
"Hey beautiful girl how are you? How was your road trip?"
"Great" I smile
"That's great. Dad and I are coming into the city tomorrow and want to see you?"
"Ummm, we are having the apartment painted and are staying at a hotel."
"Where?"
"The pacific bay resort" I reply
"That's not far from us."
"Yeah I know"
"Aren't there places closer?"
"We thought we'd treat ourselves" I lie
"Sienna, I know when your lying!!"
"Okay, Dylan lives here and his giving us a place to stay while our apartments finished."
"He lives there?"
"Sure does"
"Wow, well how bout we meet there for dinner tomorrow night?"
"Umm, okay" I say "can Ella come?"
"Sure and Dylan"
"I'll see about that one" I laugh
I knew the disapproving looks ill get if Dylan comes. I'll have to figure out what to do to hide the bruises on my body. Fuck why did this have to be sprung on me.
"Well his invited. And if Ella has a boyfriend he is quite welcome too."
"Okay, thanks mum I'll see you then."
"Mums invited us all to dinner here tomorrow night."
"I'll book a table" says Dylan
"Can I bring someone?" Asks Ella
"Sure" I smile
"Kale do you want to come?"
"Well I'm not generally somebody you'd want to take home to the parents."
"Neither am I man" laughs Dylan "so you're coming!"
Dylan books a table our food finally arrives and we sit down and eat.

The day starts out like any other but as the hours get closer to dinner my stomach fills with butterflies I don't know how successful tonight's going to be. Seeing my parents is one thing but them meeting Dylan makes me feel ill and looking through the clothes I've bought I have no idea how I'm going to cover up these bruises without them suspecting something the last thing I want for them to do is jump to conclusions. I go through my wardrobe again how the fuck am I going to do this.
"Ella!" I yell
"Yeah"
"Can you come here honey?!"
"Sure thing"
Ella comes in and I explain to her the problem.
"Dylan!" She yells
"What?"
"Come here!"
"What's up you two?"
"Sienna's parents are a little OTT and they are going to look at you and look at Si and think you've been bashing her..... So we need to go shopping!"
"We have to all go then."
"Why can't we go by ourselves?" I protest
"Because it's not safe we are all going."
"Okay" I give up I don't think at this rate we'll ever be able to leave this place with out them.
We head to the shops and not long after I find a long sleeved mini dress in red - it's perfect Ella thinks she'll be able to go over the remaining visible bruises with make up to conceal them.

We head home and start to get ready I go into the shower and then get dressed, do my hair and makeup and then I go into Ella who is ready and she does my legs and suggests I put on stockings just to make sure and she throws me some she bought at the shops. Then I put my black pumps on and walk back into Dylan's room and into the closet to grab my clutch.
"Wow!" Dylan says when I walk in "you look stunning."
"Thanks" I smile Dylan looks amazing his got a white shirt on, black jeans and his hair is spiked a little with a tiny bit of gel he looks hot. "You don't look too bad yourself."
"Are you nervous?"
"A little" I reply
But my nerves multiply when I realize that my parents will be here in minutes. My parents won't be pleased In my choice with Dylan but they don't have to date him. When I hear the elevator I get sick to my stomach - Dylan had told downstairs to let the up when they got here. I check the security camera and it's defiantly them. I punch in the code and at this point I was just one big ball of nerves!
"Si, you look amazing" mum smiles
"Dress is a little bit short isn't it?" Asks dad
"How are you guys" I smile hugging them both.
"This place is beautiful!" Mum says
"Tania!! Simon!!" Ella grins and gives them a hug.
"Now where's this man of yours Si!"
"Come in first" I smile walking them over to the couch "I think his upstairs I'll go get him"
I walk upstairs as Ella chats away with my parents I walk up to Dylan's office and knock on the door.
"Yeah, come in?"
I open the door and Dylan is sitting behind his desk with Kale facing him talking away.
"There here" I smile

I go downstairs and minutes later the boys walk down the stairs.
"Hi I'm Dylan" Dylan smiles shaking my dads hand and smiling at my mum..
The look that was given when they met him said it all - they weren't impressed especially dad.
"Hi" Dad says "I'm Simon and this is Tania."
"Pleased to meet you." Dylan says politely but you could feel the tension - tonight's going to be a long one.
"You too." Dad replies
