"(Y/N)?" Liam knocked carefully on the window of your room. The streets of Beacon Hills were empty. Most of the houses were empty too. Most of the people in town were gone. "(Y/N)?" He felt his heart racing in his chest while he knocked again, a little louder this time. Behind his back he crossed his fingers.
You had to be home. You had to be safe. You had to be in your bed, dreaming nice dreams. You couldn't be taken by the ghost riders. You just couldn't.
"(Y/N)?" He raised his voice and knocked for a last time. He tried to repeat every memory he had of you over and over again in the back of his mind. He remembered the first time he had seen you. He had been trying out for the lacrosse team and you had been making your homework on the bleachers.
Once in a while you had looked up. Your lips had curled up in the most beautiful smile he had ever seen every time he had scored. You had been gone before Liam had gotten the chance to say something to you.
"(Y/N)!" He screamed now and the only thing holding him back from knocking on your window even harder, was the fear of breaking the glass and accidentally hurting you. A week after the lacrosse try out he had seen you in the hallway. While he had been looking for an excuse to talk to you, he had noticed the posters advertising the spring ball. He wasn't sure where he had ever found the courage, but he had walked up to you and had asked you to be his date. Much to his surprise you had said yes.
"Liam!" You opened your window and crossed your arms over your chest. You were wearing your pyjama and your hair was uncombed. "Why are you waking me up in the middle of the night? Why are you on the roof of my house in the middle of the night? How did you even get on the roof?" You narrowed your eyes and shook your head. "You're not really here, are you? I'm dreaming. I'm just dreaming." You already wanted to turn around, but Liam grabbed your wrist.
"You're not dreaming and I..." He hesitated for a moment. "I just wanted to know if you were okay, if you were doing fine." He licked his lips and he shifted his weight from one leg to the other.
"You wake me up at 3am because you want to know if I'm okay?" You raised your eyebrows and let out a deep sigh. "You could have asked me at school tomorrow."
"I didn't know that..." Liam took a deep breath. "Look, there are some strange things happening here and I don't want to scare you but..." He hesitated for a moment. "I think I'm in love with you and I'm terrified that the ghost riders will take you and that I won't know it because I won't remember you anymore."
You rolled your eyes. "I'm fine, Liam." You leaned on the tips of your toes to press a quick kiss on his lips. "But now I go back to bed. I'll see you tomorrow."
Liam nodded, even though he wouldn't leave the spot next to the window until he would see you leaving the house tomorrow morning. Just to be sure.
