{29~Consummation}

Warning- it gets mature in this chapter. Tactfully.

Severus heard the flames in his empty office, Felix had gone back to his dorm a few minutes prior, and he hadn't bothered to look up. What if it was bad news? What if there in his fireplace stood an empty-armed auror with just her wand in hand?

A figure leaned over his desk, and as thin as the form was, it could have easily been Draco.

"Is this the welcome I get?"

That was all Severus needed to be on his feet, face to face with the only witch on that whole forsaken planet that caught his eyes.

"Hermione."

"Is that it, Draco? I think I might have forgotten," she leaned back and looked back to the blond, but Severus could not have cared less of the man's presence in his office. He rounded his desk quick as a hex and brought Hermione into the strongest of embraces.

"You, witch, scared the bloody hell out of me."

She had the audacity to chortle while squeezing the life out of him.

"Hey, I wasn't on a picnic you know, although Mathis sure thought we were."

The dark wizard didn't catch what she said but the words didn't matter, he pushed her back slightly and then pulled her in so their lips touched, a much-needed kiss after nearly a whole week not kissing one-another. He even heard the flames of the fireplace sound signifying Draco's exit.

"I've missed you... and I just wanted to say I'm sorry, Hermione. I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't been able to say that to you before you--"

"But here I am. I knew you were wrong, you don't have to prove it to me."

The wizard looked at her with steely eyes, ones that scorned her for joking at such a time as this.

"What do you think you're doing, witch? You just got kidnapped and nearly had your memory erased, and yet you stand here and jest with me?" Severus demanded, her arms now in his hands, a serious face taken over.

Hermione sighed, grabbing his waist and pulling herself close.

"You insufferable man, and for your information... he did erase my memory. Just not very well, as he left my memory there and only gave me new ones in place of the old that he thought he got rid of," Hermione told him factually, slipping her wand from her sleeve and casting out a memory, allowing it down into the base of the wood.

"Our "honeymoon,"" she said with a bit of a scrunch to her nose, "I wish I could get rid of these memories, but it's too dangerous... I don't want to risk actual memory loss."

"He tried to erase your memory and replace them with falsehoods? Disgusting." Severus grabbed a flask from his desk and let her set the wisp into it, for whatever Hermione may find it useful for. He set it down, coming back to her.

"I agree, but now I'm here, so could you stop asking me questions and kiss me?" Hermione begged him, pulling him closer again so their bodies touched and their heat swirled together.

Severus took the lead, and he easily slipped his lips onto hers, delicately coaxing her on top of him. He took a few steps back, allowing her to follow as soft fingers tied into his black hair.

Hermione moaned, producing a vibration that sent Severus back a few more steps towards their room in heat. His arms were pulling her close for contact, and she was simply attempting to keep up as he took larger steps towards the bed they could once again share.
