A lunch tray is placed in front of me.
"I'm sitting with you today, Celeste.", says Gabriel.
I didn't exactly know what to say, so I just smile and move my stuff out of the way.
He looks over at Aimee's journal. "You know, this is messing Chris up too...but she was your best friend so I assume its been worse for you."
I say nothing and pick at my food.
"You're lonely, Celeste." It's a statement, not a question.
"Yeah.", I say. My voice is hoarse and barely above a whisper.
"You talk.", says Gabriel, taken aback.
I nod and give a half-hearted smile. "I do."
"You've always seemed pretty quiet, though.", he says thoughtfully.
I look at Aimee's notebook and then go to look him in the eyes. "Because Aimee had enough mouth for the both of us."
