My eyes are focused on the door of my hospital room, my head hurts and a tear rolls down my cheek. I'm afraid. Every single second could be my last. I'm sick and alone, the two things I hate the most.
"Miss, there are two people here for you," a nurse says. A huge smile plastered on her face and I slowly shake my head at her. "I think you're in the wrong room, my friends aren't coming today," I softly say and she frowns slightly. "I'll get them and then you can tell me if you know them, is that okay with you?" I nod and the nurse quickly leaves my room. Scott was here yesterday and Lydia and Stiles two days ago, they aren't coming today, I am sure about that. I close both my eyes. I hear someone cough a bit on purpose and I open my eyes once again.
His eyes meet mine and I feel the tears form in my eyes. A small smile is planted on his face and I softly pinch myself. "This can't be true," I whisper to myself, even though I know that this is really happening. "Uhm- hey Piper," he stutters and walks over to me. His hair perfectly done and a scarf around his neck, the scarf I got him for Christmas.
I finally notice the girl by his side. She has blonde hair that falls besides her face. My mouth falls open and she looks at me with an awkward smile. I would've done the same in her situation. "So this is her? This is Felicity? She's even prettier than Scott said she was!" I yell excitedly, most of it is because of Isaac his presence here. Of course other people have visited me, but they aren't like my best friend, they aren't like my brother.
"Calm down Piper," he laughs and takes place besides my bed. A tear rolls down my cheek and I still can't believe that he's actually here. "I'm so sorry Piper, I tried to visit you, but a lot happened in Beacon Hills." Felicity takes place next to Isaac and I look at them. Isaac hangs the scarf over his chair and does the same with his black jacket. "How did you meet her?" I ask curiously and Isaac starts to smile even more at me. "She was a new student after you left and we became-" he stops speaking and looks down at his hands. "He tries to say we became best friends," his fiancé smiles and I bite on my lip. "Oh, so you call that; 'a lot happened in Beacon Hills.' I thought you wouldn't forget me," I say and his eyes stay down. I press my lips against each other and rub underneath my eyes. "I- I haven't forgot about you," he says and I shake my head. "Fine, whatever, if you're going to keep lying to me you can leave. I won't listen to lies," I say and he nods.
"I could tell you the things that have happened, if you want to," he says and I nod, again. "Sure, go ahead," I whisper and he starts talking, again.
After a very long story I close my eyes, trying to make everything clear. "So, Allison died," I mumble. "Scott told me about his new girlfriend and just said he and Allison broke up a while ago, but in reality she's actually dead." I open my eyes again and notice Isaac his watery eyes. "I'm sorry." I shake my head. "You don't have to apologize Isaac, it means I'm going to see her again," I whisper.
He reaches his hand towards mine and our fingers intertwine, like they always used to do. I have missed this feeling for so long.
"Isaac, I'm tired," I say and I struggle to keep my eyes open. I take deep breaths in and out. "We can leave, if you want," he says and I shake my head immediately. "I don't want you to leave me alone, not again. I need you here."
My eyes close and I feel how he softly squeezes my hand. "I need you too, Piper, I've always needed you," he says and I nod a bit. "I know," I chuckle. "I know that I'm the worst best friend ever, I should've been there for you, just like you always were there for me." A tear escapes my eye. "I never forgot you Piper and I never will. No matter what."
"I will always remember you too," I mumble and then everything becomes quiet. My pain is gone and so am I.
