Kylie was sitting on her mother's lap, in front of Mr. Harris. Melissa took her phone out and called Scott, who seemed to be missing.

"Where the hell are you? Get to the school, now." She said and then hung up.

"How about we get started?" Mr. Harris proposed.

Melissa nodded.

"Sure."

"Lately, Scott's mind has been somewhere else. As has his body. Personally, I think it has something to do with his home situation." Mr. Harris said.

Melissa nodded, but look confused.

"Well, personally, I don't understand what you mean by 'home situation'." She responded.

"Specifically, the lack of an authority figure." The teacher explained.

"Yeah, I'm the authority figure so..." Melissa trailed off, not understanding what he was getting at.

Harris sighed.

"Sorry, allow me to clarifie, I mean the lack of a male authority figure." He stated.

Kylie frowned at him and Melissa's mouth made an 'O' shape.

"Well, believe me, we're much better without him in the picture." Melissa said.

"Does Scott feel the same way?" The Chemistry teacher asked.

"Yes, I think so." Melissa didn't even hesitate when she gave the answer. "I hope so." She added on second thought.

After the talk with Harris, Melissa was furious. She immediately called Scott back while balancing Kylie on her hip as the three year old was falling asleep.

"Scott, you need to call me, right now." She said and hung up.

She looked away and spotted Chris and Veronica Argent and walked towards them.

"Excuse me, you aren't Allison's parents, are you?" She asked. "I'm Scott's mom and I hate to say this, but he's not answering his phone either."

"You're his mother?" Chris asked.

Melissa frowned and replaced Kylie who was slipping from her hip.

"Funny, how you say it like it's an accusation." She said, offended.

"Well, I wouldn't claim it as a source of pride since he practically kidnapped my daughter today." Chris Argent snapped.

"How do you know skipping school wasn't your daughter's idea?"

"My daughter-" Chris stopped himself as he saw Allison and Scott getting out of Allison's car. "Is right there."

Melissa stomped her way to her son.

"Where exactly have you been? It was already bad that you made Stiles lie to me while dropping your sister off and now you go missisng for an entire day?" Melissa said angrily.

"Nowhere, mom."

"Nowhere meaning not at school!"

Scott and Allison looked at each other and Kylie looked up and rubbed her eyes while yawning.

"Kinda." Scott said.

"It's not his fault, it's my birthday an we were just-"

"Allison!" Chris cut her off. "In the car."

Everyone looked away as a scream ripped trough the night. There was a mountain lion in the parking. Melissa immediately ran towards the side, Scott and Allison soon following. She placed herself so that Kylie was hidden between herself and Scott. There were gunshots as Chris Argent shot the beast and it finally became calm. As everyone walked over to see the dead beast, Kylie whimpered and hid in her mother's chest, only wanting to get out of here.
