Negan's Runner

Chapter 6

1 WEEK LATER

 I stand outside of the hilltop gates waiting for Jesus to catch up with me. I lean against the wall twirling my bat. I hear foot steps and sling the bat towards the noise. Maggie looks at me with hands up. I smile and hug her.

"You should come back with me." Maggie looks back at the gate and then me with a sad smile.

"I can't. This is my knew home." She says.

"I figured." I look down just in time for Jesus to drop down next to me. I let out a screech and look at him. I slap him in his arm and he laughs.

"You ready tonto?" I ask. Jesus looks at me and laughs. I shake my head. He follows me to my bike and jumps on the bike.

"Let's go." I laugh and shake my head. I hug Maggie and wave to Adam on the tower. Sasha left before I could talk to her. I swing my leg over and look back Maggie one last time before peeling out leaving a trail of dust in my wake.

"Negan is in Alexandria." Jesus says to me.

"He was there last week." 

"He is waiting on you to come back Charls. You are valuable. An amazing runner what do you think is going to happen. Saviors have been patrolling the roads around here all week." I shake my head.

"Why haven't you said anything." I say. 

"I'll tell you when we get back to Alexandria." I hit the gas and go faster. "Don't kill us." I laugh and make him yell.

The gates open and Arot, Dwight, Rick, and Negan stare at me and Jesus in a fit of laughter.

"You sure you didn't shit yourself." I say.

"I didn't think you were going to stop Charls. That gate was not open." I laugh harder and he hits me in the shoulder.

"What no welcome home." I laugh and Rick looks pissed. "What's going on?" 

"We need you to do a run to the people on the hill with Negan and his group." Rick says.

I raise an eyebrow and look at all of them.

"Go fuck yourself." I spit out. Arot jumps up and sling my bat around clipping her in the face.

"Please I dealt with bitches like you before the apocalypse what the fuck makes you think you scare me now?" I question. I hear guns being moved into position. "Please do me the fucking favor. Please." I turn towards the nearest savior.

"You got the balls to pull that fucking trigger." He looks at me. "No you don't put the bitch down you fucking pussy." He starts to pull the trigger and I smile. "You gonna do it?" I taunt.

"Charlie!" I hear Rick raise his voice at me.

"What Rick. What the fuck do you want to say to me. Hmm. How the last time I did a run the crazy son of a bitch almost fucking raped me. How he almost killed me." Rick looks away. Arot jumps at me again and i slam my fist into her face.

"Enough!" Negan says. He moves towards me and I smile.

"What the fuck ever. I'm staying at Glenn's. You know the man you killed. I'm staying at his house." I leave everyone in the street.

I open the door with the key Maggie gave me on Hilltop. I drop my bag and let out a huge puff of air.

"What the fuck was that!" Rick yells. I keep heading towards the guest bedroom. I let my body fall on the bed.

"Charlie. I'm serious you attacked Arot. Do you know how bad this is? He could decide to kill you or someone else because of your actions." Rick sits down next to me. 

"I miss how it was before Negan. Remember the day you met me?" Rick chuckles.

"How could I not. I thought you were going to kill me after seeing Aaron. I remember you barreling after me. Daryl stopped you. He told me after that you were a little hell raiser." I laugh.

"Now look at me the girl who doesn't give two flying fucks." I say.

"Your still you Charlie Clare. You will always be our Charls, but please be careful." Rick looks at me with such sorrow.

"I need you to do this run. He will kill someone if you don't." I lay my hand on Rick's face and kiss his cheek.

"For you I will do this damned run, but Rick if anything like last time happens i'm leaving. Permanently. I won't do it. I will find somewhere away from people." I say.

"Nothing will happen if I can help it I promise." I hug Rick and he leaves me alone in the empty house.
