Negan's Runner

Chapter 15

 The gates to Alexandria open and I see Dwight talking with Rick. They look at me and then at Negan in the truck behind me. I park the bike and wait on Negan to get out of the truck. Sherry makes her way towards me. I look at her and nod. She moves around me so she can see Dwight. The look in his eyes is pure love with sarrow.

"Sherry?" Dwight barley whispers. Sherry looks at Dwight and runs into his arms. They hug and Negan puts his arm around me and kisses my temple. Rick looks at me and I smile.

"I'm ok. I did what I thought Glenn would have wanted." Rick nods, but looks perplexed at my actions. Dwight looks at me with a sad smile on his face. I feel Negan tighten his grip around me claiming me as his own.

"You have to leave Dwight. You and Sherry you are to leave this place and any place near. If you are caught anywhere near here you will be shot on spot no questions asked." I can feel my voice cracking. I'm loosing my best friend. The person who has been there for me since Glenn.

"Thank you Charlie." Dwight and Sherry go back towards my house and I turn to Negan. He looks at me as if he is waiting to hear something.

"Thank you Negan." He nods and looks at Rick.

"Time to talk Rick-a-rue." Negan start to whistle and twirl Lucille in his hands. "So how has the other communities been?" He ask. Rick looks taken aback. MIchonne looks at Negan almost tempting him to do something about it. I see her grip at the gun in her holster. 

"Other communities?" He ask. I catch Michonne's eyes and shake my head slightly.

"Yep. The Kingdom. Hilltop?" Rick looks at Negan like he has no idea what he is talking about.

"I don't know. I know that they are communities like Alexandria. They bring you things. They serve you as we do. I have only had relations with The Hilltop because of Jesus." Rick says.

"Lovely. I come along to warn you. If you are working with them trying to stage a mutiny, you will loose. I will shut that shit down so damn fast your head will spin so fucking fast. I will kill everyone you love one by one. I am not someone you fuck with Rick. I will start with Eugene. I won't kill him but he will turn on you and spill his guts." He smiles. "Hell almost like Spencer did." Rick goes as white as a sheet.He looks as though he could throw up everything that was once in his stomach.

"I understand." Dwight and Sherry come out of the house and move towards his bike. Sherry looks at me one last time and smiles. Dwight cranks the bike and leaves. I watch as the disappear down the road. 

"We will be back in a months time. We expect half. Don't play with me Rick." Negan turns and starts for the gate. I make my way to Rick and hug him.

"Be ready for war. I put a note in Sherry's bag. A place they can hide. Meet them at my old house. There are supplies. I told you Rick this is going to end in war." I pull away and make my way towards the gate. Negan looks at me and then at the gate. I get on my bike and drop a note to the ground. I follow Negan out and look back as I see Rick make his way towards the note. The gates close before he picks it up.

RICKS POV

 I make my way towards Charlie's bike and watch as she drops a letter to the ground. I look at Michonne. The gates close and I pick up the letter.

 Well I guess my plan worked. I am his wife. I will be guarded heavily. I am still a runner and intend to stay that way as long as possible. I know this isn't how we pictured getting the advantage, but I love all of you too much to loose you. I am going to do the best I can with the time I have. The doctor on hilltop. He. Well he told me i'm dying. I guess I knew it was going to end in a dramatic way. I know I don't have much longer. Hell i'm sick. The point is. I'm going to use the last days I have left to make sure you succeed. I want you to be able to have kids and not worry about if they are going to be a victim. You are more than you know. I was alone and an outsider until you got here. I was a runner who didn't want to be around anyone. I was a person who looked at everything with skepticism. I didn't want to tell you like this, but I know if Negan knew I was sick he would try to fix me. I also know if he knew he wouldn't let me be a runner It's not a terminal illness it just makes me dizzy to the point of passing out and sometimes seizing. The only way it would kill me is if it happened when I was alone. Like I said Negan doesn't know or I would never be allowed to leave. I am going to break the infrastructure of the compound. Dwight has instructions for when that time comes. He will take over the Sanctuary. I trust you all with my life. If I never get to see you again just know I died doing what I wanted to do. I died helping you. I love you. I want you to know that I am thankful to you Rick. You showed me who I was and who I wanted to be. I truly believe you will win this. Hold together and don't let anyone come in between you and your goal. Watch Gregory. Simon has him under his belt and he will rat in no time. Im thankful to you Michonne for everything you have taught me. It was an honor being taught by the baddest bitch of all. I love each of you dearly.

I look at the letter and hand it to Michonne. She cries out and I hold her. We will make Charlie proud. I look at the closed gates then to the sky. Lord let me be right about all of this.
