Phil cried into my shoulder, as I continuously thought of something to say, then opened my mouth to say it, but then I decided I wasn't going to, so the whole process started up again and again.

"Phil...." I trailed off. We hadn't actually said anything for the last five minutes.
"I'm so s-sorry, D-dan." Phil stuttered through tears. "I didn't m-mean to have a meltdown h-here."
"No, no, don't be stupid. It's OK." I rocked him. Phil sniffed, wiped his eyes and tried to look presentable again. He lifted his head to look into my eyes, and I noticed the scars and bruises on his head from where he had been beaten up yesterday, but they weren't enough to stop me from staring deep into his irresistible crystal-blue eyes.
"Thank you, Dan." Phil said, his voice still slightly croaky from when he had been crying. He hugged me tight, and at that moment, I knew we would be more than friends.
"Hang on a sec, let me get my Dad to bring the spare mattress up. Stay here, I won't be long." I smiled at him, and got to my feet. My legs wobbled a bit as we had been sat on the carpet for the past hour or so.

I called from the top of the stairs, "Dad! Please can you bring the spare mattress up? Phil's staying tonight because his parents aren't in."
"Sure!" Dad replied. "Does his parents know?"
"Yeah. Phil texted them."
"Good. I'll be there in a minute."
I walked back into my room and sat on the carpet with him again. "It's OK, you're staying here with me tonight. You're safe." I whispered to Phil. The look in his eyes told me everything. I felt something in the pit of my stomach that I only ever felt with girls. What was happening? I wasn't gay....was I?

Suddenly, I felt a strong urge to move closer to Phil, so I gradually closed in on Phil's beautifully chiselled face, and Phil did the same. Soon enough, our lips touched, and we gently kissed eachother. Then Phil opened his mouth, so I followed, and put my tongue in. It felt really good. Until, my dad knocked on the door. We both broke away at the speed of light, as we weren't ready to tell anyone yet. We needed some time.

"Here's the mattress, boys!" Dad grinned happily, lugging in the spare mattress. Me and Phil took an end and carefully placed the mattress in the right position together. Dad left, and we both sat on the mattress together, hand in hand.
