Tears were threatening to escape.

How could he do this to me?!

His arms were wrapped around the tiny waist, his hands occasionally brushing against the long, silky, platinum blonde strands of hair. I watched intensely as the pair tried to swallow each other's faces. The kiss was aggressive, fast, hungry . . .

Wasn't I good enough for him?

Throwing daggers with my eyes I decided against the idea of catching him red handed, screaming until I burst his very sensitive eardrums (and straining my voice). I did the only thing I could do at this very moment in time; run.

The Big Apple's lights were a blur to me, the feeling of the New Year never disappearing from the atmosphere. Before I had looked at New York with such admiration, a place where I roam around freely, enjoying a little bit of independency as I enjoyed some time off in one of the biggest cities in the world.

As I ran, picking up speed, I thought of the only person that could help me, give me a bit of comfort on the way back to London.

His first words were "What did Matt do to you?"

I mentally smiled at his over protectiveness over me. Shakily, I replied "I'll tell you on the plane back to London Giles."

Giles sighed and nodded. He held the passenger door open for me before climbing in beside me on the driver's seat.

After 20 minutes of silence in the car, my bags were all packed and loaded onto the jet, ready to be departed back to London with me and my not-good-enough ass. I sat down with anxiety, hurt, betrayal all flooding my inside, all running through my veins.

Once the plane took off, the door to the front of the plane opened to reveal a worried Giles.

Now I felt bad. I had probably distracted this man from spending time with family.

"What did he do to you," Giles sighed, deeply and genuinely affected by my change in mood.

It took me a couple of minutes to open up to him but he was patient. He waited until I was ready to open up which I was thankful for.

I sighed heavily, ready to tell the entire khahani.

Not once did he interrupt or question any of my words. Neither did he make me repeat anything, considering the fact I was mumbling and stumbling on all my words.

"Let me get this straight," Giles said once I had finished talking. "First he tells you to dress up, and then gives you directions to your date venue. Then when you arrive to your location, he was with another girl?"

I nodded through prickly, hot, angry, fierce tears. Giles' face turned scarlet in a matter of seconds.

"How could he. . ." he started of saying, fists clenched and a look that could kill.

"Did you say blonde girl?" He inquired and I nodded, confused.

I looked at him suspiciously, "What is it Giles?"

He looked at me and sighed, "Nothing," he muttered.

I sighed heavily. The way Giles was interested in the hair colour of the girl Matt snogged . . . he was definitely hiding something. I knew he had a tough shell that wasn't going to crack under pressure anytime soon. I decided to drop it; I couldn’t be asked to integrate him because I knew the entire truth. Matt did not love me.

He sent me a sad smile before getting up and unlocking his phone.

"No," I shrieked, pulling his phone out of his reach.

He rolled his eyes. "Relax; I wasn't going to call Matt. Beside, my phone doesn't work because in case you haven't noticed or if you have forgotten, we are in an airplane, which is currently in the air.”

I blushed in embarrassment and smiled sheepishly, handing his phone back to him.

Then for a moment, Giles' face lit up. He had that I've-got-a-sick-ass-idea type of face.

"C'mon," he beckoned to me from the door. "Ever tried flying a plane before?"

I shook my head.

Smirking, he held the door open to the front of the plane.

"After you, Miss Malik," he winked.

My first reaction was a smile. My first noise was a high pitched excited squeal. I ran into where all the magic happened.

Okay . . . it wasn't magic but considering the fact that it was my second time in a private jet and Giles was very kind of him to let me lead us to our ultimate and preventable death . . . it looked complicated. Another word for complicated was magic. . . in my dictionary. . .

"Are you ready Captain Malik," Giles exclaimed as he placed his hat on my head.

Astonished, I patted my head, touching the soft hat.

"Let's do this," I snarled in a deeper tome, causing Giles to chuckle.

Throughout the journey, Giles taught me the basic controls on how to fly a plane. He also shared a few of experiences on flying to different countries, carefully avoiding any Matt related conversations which were great.

I was thankful for Giles for trying to distract me from my current affairs but somehow Matt wondered back into my thoughts. . .

Fuck you Matthew Burke!
