Sometimes in life, you had no choice but to move on. I couldn't hide myself from the world forever. Before Matt came around, I had a life. I decided to carry on living my life like I had never argued with Matthew Burke over my chair in Costa.
"Look at you," Amir smirked as I walked into Costa with my uniform confidently. Then he made this perverted face which made me snort in laughter.
"You look like a pedo man," I laughed, shaking my head.
He rolled his eyes and walked towards me.
"Excited?"
"Hell yeah!"
"It's hard work . . .”
I walked up closer to him, with a mischievous glint in my eyes. he noticed it too and smirked.
"What are you trying to say Karishay?"
"Can you handle the pressure," he raised his brows at me. Now, at this very moment in time, our faces were inches away from each. No, we didn't kiss; we just had a playful glaring competition to see who would lose first.
"Amir, Jasmine," we heard someone say. We turned our heads to see Henry smiling at us from behind the counter.
"You look good," Henry commented. I thanked him before he went through how Costa ran and other important things. I also introduced myself to my new colleagues who once served me. The introduction was unnecessary as everyone knew me.
"We open in five," he said to anyone and soon, everyone scattered off to their places, waiting for the doors to open.
"You can back out of this now and hide in the kitchen," Amir told me, pointing to the kitchen behind. "Are you nervous?"
I scoffed, "no," I lied.
Amir smirked, reading through my lie. He patted my back. "Good luck."
"I don't need it," I sassed.
"I'm wishing the coffee good luck. It won't be able to escape from you. Also I've seen your hygiene levels," he smirked.
I smiled sarcastically at him and sent him a dirty look before the first customer walked through.
Costa flooded in with customers and there was no time for me to say to Amir 'fuck you bastard because I'm doing it!'
I was doing pretty well, smiling even though I was dying inside because I wanted to hide inside my bed, forgetting the smell of the delicious coffee but of course, I had a job to do, a responsibility to carry out and backing out of this would make the lecture I gave myself for an hour in the mirror a waste of time.
