Hi guys!
Here's chapter 20 . . . And a picture of Abid and Jasmine together! Well side by side because all the other ones are crap or portraying the romantic attraction between their characters in various films.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

"I'm so sorry," I exclaimed as I bumped into a stranger. That was the third person I had bumped into today.
I had woken up late despite setting three alarms the night before. Somehow I had slept through most of them until Ammee poured water over me. I was thankfully she did.
Half an hour it took me to get dressed properly and stumble down the stairs, nearly twisting my ankle. With no breakfast in my belly and added height, it was hard for me to navigate myself around Chancery Lane. I had visited my new workplace over the weekend and was glad to know that there was a Costa right outside but the rush hour scene was completely different to Sunday when it was calm and quiet and when buses took forever to come.
At one point I considered running barefoot to my workplace so I wouldn't end up late but one look at the ground contaminated by the filthy rain water changed my mind. It was a surprise on how I managed to arrive exactly on time, especially as I was so tempted to buy a well-deserved coffee from Costa.
That had to wait as I was given a tour of the moderate, colourful office full of published books from several famous authors, including my favourite Philippa Gregory.
"A fan, I assume?" My tour guide smirked at me when he saw me fan girl. Smiling sheepishly, I put the book back onto the shelf and carried on following Jay.
"And this is where you'll be working," he pointed to an empty desk waiting to be contaminated by my things. "Next to me," he grinned.
"Where is everyone else?" I asked as I scanned the office. I had been shown the empty departments while trying to forget about my hunger.
"You're supposed to be here by 9:30 and finish around five but if you've finished everything then you can go home early. I think you've got a sheet of all the meetings that you need to attend, like there's a meeting with everyone from all the departments, then smaller meetings with people from your department and so on. There should be everything on the desk, I think I put everything on the desk," Jay mumbled as he checked my new desk.
"It's okay, if I don't have anything then I'll just annoy you from your left," I smirked as I sat down on my chair.
All the resources that were needed for me to settle in and start had been displayed on my desk. It had only been a matter of time the rest of my colleagues had flooded in and noticed that there was a new face around. But the spotlight on me had been transferred onto my new boss who strolled in, making sure that all attention was focused on her as she inform everyone about all the agendas and deadlines for this, not forgetting to briefly introduce me to everyone.
"Well she seems nice," I muttered as I sat down on my chair.
"She's great. . . Once you get to know her . . . Don't worry about her," Jay assured me.
