I can't believe this story has over 100 votes and 1000 views already!! 😱😱

"I can't believe you would do something like that, Brennan", she says while reaching down to look at my ankle.
"Annie, I wasn't thinking straight, I reall-"
"That's not an excuse, and you know it's not. No wonder people don't like you, and I can't believe your parents don't know anything about this! Maybe I should tell them", she says.
"Please don't!", I plead.
"Why not?", she asks.
"Be-be-beca-"
"Brennan, I have to be honest with you", she says.
"Yeah Annie?"
"I....I....I....I.....I really like, i, really like stealing things too", she puts her head down. I can tell that she is upset with herself.
"Annie..."
"I'm just going to leave now", she says.
"Uh, I can't actually walk", I chuckle back.
"Oh yeah", she laughs along with me.

She helps me up and carries me out of the woods. She walks all the way to the hospital while carrying me, which is a long way.

"Annie"
"Yeah"
"I'm really sorry for putting you through everything today, my emotions were messing around in my head and I did some stupid things" I say.
"It's fine, as long as we can still be friends and I can still be your fake girlfriend", she smirks.
"Of course", I reply.

She carries me into the emergency room and puts me down on a seat. She signs me in and then a nurse comes and wheels me in to an examination room.

I can see Annie sitting in the waiting room. She pulls out a piece of paper. Tears start falling from her face as I can see her reading it. She folds it back up and puts it in her pocket.

I wonder what it is?

I keep day dreaming while looking at her until the nurse starts talking to me.

"Would your like your girlfriend to come in?", she asks.
"My girlfriend?!?!? Oh uh, she's actually my friend, but sure", I say, a tad confused.

The nurse goes out and brings Annie inside.

"Brennan would like you to hear the news", she says.
Annie nods, and then she does something unexpected.

She grabs my hand and interlocks our fingers, just like I did in maths class.

"Brennan has sprained his ankle and will be in a boot for two weeks. He won't need crutches as we want as much movement in the ankle as we can", she says.

I grip her hand tight when she tells me that.

"Could you please leave the room my dear while I sort Brennan out", the nurse asks Annie.

She just nods and leaves the room.

"It looks like you two are a bit more than just friends", the nurse smirks and chuckles before leaving the room.

Maybe she is right.
