My heart sank when I read the headline to the newest update on the LadyBlog when I got home. I didn't stay for the sleepover after I revealed.

It read: Who is Ladybug? (Revealed!)

"Alya..." I whispered softly, my heart filling with regret.

She wouldn't.

No, she wouldn't.

Would she?

I took a deep breath and tapped the link to the full article.

Who Is Ladybug? (Revealed!)

OMG guys! I would've never guessed that our spotted superhero is my own friend, Marinette Dupain-Cheng!

That's right, folks! You've heard it! It's the daughter of the Dupain-Chengs: the ones who own Paris's favorite bakery!

Marinette is Ladybug!

Bug out!
-Alya

Why would she use such an embarrassing picture too? Also who the heck took that?

"AGHHHHHH!!!" I yelled in horror, throwing my phone across the room then running downstairs, not even caring that it's screen would definitely going to be shattered after the wall's collision.

"Marinette?" My mom called out to me from downstairs.

"Sorry about the yelling! I just realized... my toothbrush can... um sing if you press a certain button! It's really exciting!" I lied horribly, giggling nervously at the end as I rushed down the stairs to show her that I was okay.

"Uh... Okay dear? Get some rest," my mother strongly advised, putting a hand to my forehead. She shrugged, but helped me back up the stairs, then tucked me into bed.

"Tikki, I did something really bad," I confessed, letting the kwami out from her hiding spot.

She flew out, holding a cookie as she ate it.

"What did you do?" Tikki asked, munching on the cookie.

I remembered how she was asleep when I transformed, meaning she was asleep when she flew into my earrings.

"I told someone about my identity," I said in a small voice, staring at the ground guiltily.

"Marinette!!! Telling one person can ruin everything! I've seen my previous holders and who they've told! They've told their most trusted friends and yet they still ended up ruining relationships!" Tikki flipped out.

"I didn't tell one person... I kinda told three. Alya, she put my identity on the LadyBlog," I told her, very guiltily.

Tikki had begun to panic, "No, no this is not good, Marinette! Now Hawkmoth has an advantage on you! He can easily discover your identity, along with the remainder of Paris that hasn't already seen the news! This happened to my previous holders when they told someone! You shouldn't have trusted your friends!"

"I know... but they're my friends! I thought they would be more understanding and compassionate. Instead, I'm being treated like some celebrity and-" I cut myself off with the realization.

"A-And wha-what if they nev-never treat me the same anymore?" I whispered, a frown taking place as my eyes clouded with tears.

"I know it seems like a really bad thing right now, but trust me, there's a much bigger problem at hand!" Tikki tried to remind me as I blatantly ignored her.

"What if Adrien only loves Ladybug?!" I cried out in shame.

"I realize that will be an issue, but we need to focus on the bigger problem!" Tikki tried to talk over my senseless babbling.

"What should I do?! What can I do?! What's happening?!" I threw myself on the bed and sulked.

"Marinette! What are we going to do about Hawkmoth! He could be plotting against you right now for all we know! We must be prepared!" Tikki tried to remind me.

"What's the worst Hawkmoth can do? I'm about to be loveless, Tikki!" I overdramatized, not thinking through the entire situation.

Tikki groaned, but then flew to a notebook to try and sort it her plans.

Angrily feeling betrayed, I called my former best friend with my thoughts on her new blog post.

"Aly-" I began to say, but then I was interrupted with a scream, causing me to jump a mile.

"LADYBUG CALLED ME ON MY CELL PHONE!! MOM, MARK THE CALENDAR!" Alya fangirled.

"What was that?! Alya, why did you expose my identity to the world?! I thought we kept things secret! I trusted you..." I trailed off, my feelings beginning to hurt.

"Ladybug, you're my biggest inspiration! Like you're my idol! I can't believe you called me on the phone! This is totally crazy!" Alya couldn't stay calm.

"I'm your best friend, Alya! Please... stop calling me Ladybug. I'm also Marinette," I reminded her.

"Oh my gosh, Ladybug is calling me her best friend! Oh my goodness, I can't handle all this awesomeness!" Alya continued to fangirl.

I really didn't think anything would have changed if my best friend knew, but I was wrong.

Now, the world knew.
