Marinette's Point of View

"Hawkmoth, you cannot just keep me here!! People could be worried that I'm hurt or dead!" I argued, giving up on trying to yank the cuffs off my wrist.

"And they would be worried that little precious Ladybug can't handle herself?" He questioned, trying to cause me to rethink things. "Calm down, Marinette. I'm not here to kill you. I just need you to convince Chat Noir to bring me his miraculous."

"There's no way I would ever do that! Why would you even want both our miraculouses?" I finally sat back down against the wall of my holding.

"This could give me the power to bring back someone important," Hawkmoth muttered quietly.

"Who?! George Washington?! Hawkmoth, how is the power of creation and the power of destruction going to help you bring back George Washington?!" I screeched frustratedly. I was able to see that the lingering sarcasm obviously annoyed Hawkmoth by the sound of his groan.

I sat and wondered who exactly Hawkmoth could even want to bring back. I knew nothing about him, other than the fact that he wanted our miraculouses.

Now I knew he wanted to bring someone back. Would this end in flames? Was it that big of a deal?

I meant he had already wreaked havoc on Paris with just the moth miraculous alone, and without superheroes, there would only be villains. Could he by lying? What if he was power-greedy and just kept our powers to destroy Paris and get revenge on Chat Noir and I.

After a long period of silence, I assumed Hawkmoth was probably either offended, hurt or plotting against me. I knew I had to stabilize my angered emotions in order to keep myself under my own control.

"It's none of your business who I want to bring back. Unless I reveal my identity, this won't make the least bit of sense to you," he broke the silence, causing me to snap and turn at the direction his voice came from.

Still in the dark, I narrowed my eyes in a squint with the hopes I could somehow see some part of the man who's been hiding behind all the damage he's caused.

"Nooroo, wings fall."

A small gasp escaped my throat when I noticed the purple light that traveled down a slim, tall figure. However, his back was turned during this detransformation, so I couldn't get a better glimpse at the man.

"M-Master, why have you captured this girl?" I heard a faint voice ask him.

"Until she gets me Chat Noir's miraculous, she won't be leaving," he replied to his kwami in a harsh tone. I heard a small murmur escape Nooroo, causing my heart to break a little.

This monster was forcing an innocent kwami to help him in his evil bidding. I couldn't even begin to imagine how heartbreaking it would be if my little Tikki was under his power.

Then it struck me that Hawkmoth did have my miraculous when I saw a flash of red cover the man in his civilian form. If only there were more light, I thought, maybe I'd recognize him.

"Marinette?" I heard my sweet kwami call out in confusion.

"Tikki!" I cried out as I felt tears pool in my eyes at her familiar voice.

"Marinette, where are you?" She asked me, as I heard her flying around.

"Marinette is no longer your holder! I now have you under my control, and you will do as I say! Is that clear?" Hawkmoth demanded to my kwami.

"I don't care!" Tikki squealed, as I felt her small impact into my shoulder as she found my location.

I held my hands out as she felt her way into them. Quickly, I pulled her close to my chest and she knew to keep quiet.

"Marinette, this entire issue with the akuma attacks would end if you would help me get Chat Noir's miraculous. However, if you do not comply, I will send out an akuma to Paris without you to purify. Think about the consequences. Akumas multiply if not purified. Do you want to end akuma attacks once and for all, or not?" He attempted to convince me into joining his evil side.

I noticed the purple outlines of a butterfly shape over my face and gasped. I felt Tikki squirm uncomfortably as she was likely trying to get me to reject his offer.

I pulled my lips into a smirk, the glow of the mask illuminating my face as I rolled my eyes at the idea of complying to Hawkmoth's insanity.

"Hawkmoth," I sang out with a short laugh as I narrowed my eyes, "Here's the deal. You're not getting squat."

I lightly squeezed Tikki in my hand as a reassurance.

Hawkmoth opened a curtain as the window swung open slightly, flooding in natural lights. Tikki slipped behind me to hide herself from Hawkmoth.

I narrowed my eyes and sent him a glare. I took a deep breath and grinded my teeth as he stepped forward into the light.

"Gabriel Agreste," I chuckled condescendingly at the man who akumatized my friends and classmates.

"As I said before, Marinette. I have power. How can a little dreamer destroy Paris's best fashion designer? Not only can my money buy out your bakery and send your family to the streets, but I can also blacklist you from every fashion company and university," he threatened with a glare.

I laughed bitterly at him as he assumed that I already didn't have a plan in mind, only causing him to turn toward his window.

"If you give me the power of creation once more, I will get you the Chat Noir miraculous. However, every little decision you make with these stones will only be on my terms and mine only. Once you bring back George Washington or whatever, you give me and Chat Noir our stones back. Is that understood?" I demanded as I slammed my fist against the floor, creating an echo throughout his room with my voice and thump.

He turned to look at me as I saw that he was processing my deal. I thought about my deal as well. Would he abuse my power and deceive me? Would he stay true to his compliance?

"Now, now. Do we have second thoughts? Without my compliance, you will never gain the advantage to bring back your friend. Eventually, I will break loose and destroy you. I will find a way to expose you," I spoke ambiguously, holding a threatening smirk to my lips.

"And ruin my son's future?" Gabriel asked, causing my smirk to fall.

"By exposing my name, you will also ruin Adrien's. Are you sure you want to do that to your classmate, or from what I've seen, your love interest?" He added. My eyes widened and I frantically denied his accusation of me being his love interest.

Of course I secretly loved Adrien, but he would use this to his advantage. Whatever I did to his father would affect Adrien as well.

"Now do we have a deal?!" I asked with an uncharacteristically angered temper.

"We have a deal. If you don't comply to everything you've said, don't forget who I am. I can destroy your family's business and your future as a fashion designer."

He held out his hand for a handshake and I shook it.

Our deal was sealed.
