Superman. Superman. Superman.

He was literally the talk of the world after he saved it. It didn't bother you much, in fact, you thought it was kind of cute. The cute part being that they thought he was the only alien on earth.

You see, you are just like Superman. You came from the same place but your powers are much more in tact and more controlled. One event after another and you were able to be able to leave Krypton before everything went to shit.

You sat down at a small table, after ordering your drink, in the large cafe. You lived in Metropolis as well. No one really knows where Superman lives, and I don't think many really cared. You hear your name called and you stand up to get your coffee.

You walk to the counter and grab your coffee. You look down at the steam rising from it, causing you not to pay attention to where you are going.

"Oof!" You grunt out as you collide with what felt like a brick wall.

Coffee went all over your shirt and shoes. You look up and see a man who suspiciously resembled Superman in glasses. The man's features contort into a face of worry as he sees the coffee soaking your blouse.

You clench your jaw and hold back angry tears as the coffee burns your skin. You clench your fists, crumbling the styrofoam cup in your hands as pain pierced your chest.

"Ow." You grit out.

"I'm so sorry, are you ok??" The man asks in a slight panic.

You look up at him and narrow your eyes.

"Does it look like I'm ok?" You ask annoyed, he frowns and grabs napkins from behind you.

You step back and grab some as well. With a sigh, you bend down and start cleaning up the mess. How comical. Once it is all cleaned up, you finally look down at your shirt and notice that it has not turned see through.

You heave a sigh of relief and shake your head. Well that's just a great way to go after getting relieved from your job.

"Miss, is there anything I can do? Allow me to buy you a new coffee." The man suddenly speaks up.

You look at him and nod with a smile. Come to think of it, and actually looking at him, he is really attractive.

"Sure. I'm going to clean up whatever I can off of my shirt. Excuse me." You say politely. No need to be pissed off, it was an accident.

You briskly walk off to the ladies room and look at your reflection. You looked like a hot mess. Great. Shaking your head, you try and clean up yourself the best you can. After five minutes of trying there was only a small brown spot left. Guess this is as good as it's gonna get.

You leave the ladies room and spot the stranger sitting at the table you were sitting at. Taking a deep breath, you walk up to him and sit across from him.

"I'm sorry about that," you start "I wasn't paying attention."

"No it's my fault, I should really pay attention to where I'm going. Especially if a beautiful woman is involved." He says with a smile.

You chuckle and nod. Not bad stranger.

"I'm Y/N by the way." You say, realizing you haven't even introduced yourself yet.

"I'm Clark, it's nice to meet you Y/N." he says with a handsome smile.

"Nice to meet you too." You reply, you both began some small talk and learn that he is from a small country town.

After a little while, his name is called and he politely excuses himself. He comes back moments later with two coffees in hand.

"I hope I got the right one." He says a bit sheepishly. He had simply asked the barista to make what she had ordered before.

You thank him and take a sip of it. A satisfied smile grows on your lips and you nod.

"It's perfect, thank you Clark. Or should I say," you
drop your voice," Superman."

Clark's eyes widen but quickly relax.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He defends in a not so subtle manner.

You scoff and roll your eyes.

"Oh please. You think a pair of cheap glasses can fool me? Besides, your heart rate just jumped to about double the rate from two seconds ago."

His eyes widen and he looks taken back.

"What? How do you know that?" He asks bewildered. His eye brows furrow and you scoff yet again.

"You think you're the only alien to be on this planet?" You say sarcastically, "Thanks for the coffee." You say cheekily.

You nod towards him and smirk. Grabbing your coffee, you walk out. Leaving a very confused man behind.

He quickly gets up and chases after you. He grabs your arm a few feet out of the cafe doors and looks at you quizzically.

"You're like me? You're from Krypton?" He asks in a rush. All the while looking around, making sure no one was listening in.

"Yes, I'm from Krypton. Now if you would so kindly let me go." You say quietly. You rip your arm from his grasp and he looks at you shocked. You are a whole lot stronger than he expected.

"We need to talk. Meet me at the library? Please?" He asks. You sigh softly and nod.

"Ok fine. Be there in an hour." You reply. In all honestly, you wanted to get to know him better. It would be nice to know someone that's like you.

An hour you and him meet up. You two sat at a secluded place and talked and talked. You talked about how much you two remembered, what you guys have done this whole time. And really just enjoying each other's company. Being able to finally talk about someone about who you really are is refreshing. Of course, you didn't reveal everything about yourself, you didn't know him that well.

With what seemed only an hour later, the librarian said they would be closing soon.

"Well, it was really great talking to you Clark." You say with a small blush and smile.

He smiles right back at you.

"Likewise. Hey, we should uh, talk sometime again. I really enjoyed talking to you." He said a bit shyly. You smile widely and nod.

"Of course. Here, let me give you my number." You say, slightly giddy. He nods and hands you his phone. You put your number in and give it back to him.

You both walk to the exit and face each other.

"Well, I guess I'd better get going. See you around Clark." You say with a soft smile.

"See you around Y/N."

After a second of awkward silence, you both smile awkwardly and take off in different directions. As you walked away, you grinned as big as you could.

Not only were you talking with the Superman, you were able to get close to a very important person.

Close to the monster who killed your commander.
