Fernando tsked as he held back Catalina's hair for her as she threw up down the toilet.

Groaning once she was done, Catalina made her way to the sink to try and rinse out the terrible taste in her mouth. Staring at her concernedly, Fernando approached her slowly, "Are you okay, mi vida?"

Catalina sighed a bit, "Yes, just a bit s—"

"Sick?" he finished for her, scoffing slightly, "For a week? Darling, I think you should see a doctor."

"I honestly don't know," she closed her eyes, rubbing her temples as she tried to come to a solution.

He picked up one of her frail hands, kissing it softly, "I've already arranged an appointment since yesterday. Get ready in thirty minutes."

Her head snapped, "Thirty minutes?" she gaped, "You puta madre."

He chuckled, kissing her tenderly on the lips, "Te amo, Cat, and you know that," he mumbled sweetly.

Staring back at his gorgeous honey eyes, she couldn't help but fall in love with him even more, seeing the passionate look in his eyes that he reserved only for her.

Deciding that there was no need for her to dress up for the doctor, she simply gestured for him to take the car keys and escort her to the hospital down the street.

On the drive there, Fernando had to keep holding her hand, rubbing small circles every now and then, trying his best to remember all the instructions his mom had once told him about dealing with sick women.

Glancing back at her through the drive half the time, he couldn't help but wonder what spectacular thing he had done in a past life to earn himself such a wonderfully unique and extravagant woman.

"Say, Catalina," Fernando asked suddenly, causing her to look back up at him, "When did you know that you fell in love with me?"

She pondered it for a moment, "Possibly the day I had seen you defend me back in high school when Olalla and her clique were pissing me off."

Fernando's lips drew back in a heartwarming smile, shining through his face as if it was the sun on a rainy day. She had loved him for as long as he did to her.

He didn't know, however, what to do beyond that. Sure, they were both adults, but that didn't mean that they would jump into marriage instantly.

At the hospital, he tried his best to calm down her nerves until they called for her. When they did, he ran a hand through his dark hair nervously before walking in with her.

Doctor Melissa was a pleasant blonde woman of their age that made sure to listen carefully to Catalina's odd symptoms.

"—and I am constantly hungry. What do you think is wrong, doctora?" Catalina bit on her lip gently.

Sighing at her obliviousness, Melissa gestured with her hands for Fernando to shoo outside. Thinking it was something concerning 'lady stuff', he blushed and obliged.

Leaning in to talk to her in a low voice, Melissa furrowed her eyebrows, "When was your last period?"

Catalina tried to think back, "Erm, almost a month and a half ago."

Melissa disappeared behind her doctor's desk for a moment, before coming back with three white sticks in her hand, looking at Catalina firmly in the eyes and gesturing to the toilet behind her.

Paling in realization as she grasped onto them, Catalina's tiny hands started to shake as she went off to do her thing.
