Catalina struggled on her tiptoes and pressed a goodbye kiss to his cheek, murmuring a "Goodbye, Thibaut," causing the much taller man to grin and kiss her cheek in return, leaving to his sleek Aston Martin afterwards.
Sighing happily, she opened the door to their house, sliding off her shoes and looking up to find her boyfriend staring at her with fire in his eyes, having just put little Nora to bed.
"Catalina, why do you insist on going out with that man?" he practically hissed, his long golden locks brushing against his ears.
Rolling her eyes, Catalina had none of that, "Nando, I'm just going out with the only friend I've made on your team."
"Every goddamn night?" he asked incredulously, his voice raising a few decibels.
She scowled back at him, "Nando, I don't think that I need your permission to go out," she crossed her arms against her chest the fiery red dress making her seem more angry, "You're my boyfriend, not my husband."
Those last few words seemed to make something inside of Fernando crack, something shattered under his currently strong exterior.
It was easy to see that Fernando was struggling at Chelsea, going through the last few months without a single goal. The legend of El Niño seemed to be dying out.
It wasn't the move that had affected him; from Liverpool to London wasn't that much of a huge difference, but the atmosphere was more tense, and more expectations were pushed down on his shoulders.
He was struggling to prove himself, and Catalina wasn't helping with going out with Thibaut Courtois almost every other night.
"If you don't love me anymore, just tell me," he croaked out, the stress finally getting the best of him.
Gaping at her boyfriend in disbelief, Catalina struggled to find the words, "After all we've been through, all the tears, the laughs, the love, the matches, our daughter, you'd think I would throw it all away for a Belgian goalkeeper?"
When put that way, Fernando started feeling bad for speaking up in the first place, "I ju—"
"After last night, when I specifically showed you how much I loved you, when we were tangled together under the bedsheets, you still doubt my loyalty?" she started waving her arms around, her chestnut locks flopping around with anger.
"I never said that—"
"Well, that's what you were implying," she snapped, picking up her purse, "I'm going to stay over at Thibaut's house, with his girlfriend," she emphasized the world girlfriend, causing Fernando to looked down sheepishly.
"Mull things over for as long as you wish, I'll be back when I feel like I can be trusted," she huffed, wearing mismatched sneakers and walking out of the door.
Up till that moment, Fernando had no protests, knowing that sometimes getting some time to get your head straight was a brilliant idea.
"Oh, and by the way?" she peeked through the door, a sarcastic smile on her lips, "I'm a month pregnant."
Catalina slammed the door behind her, oblivious to Nando's yells of frustration and slamming of walls, driving off to her new best friend's house and his wonderful girlfriend.
